He led numerous mission trips to Brazil and Romania and led Montrose Baptist to plant four other churches in the same county. Pastor Crowley's funeral was one of the best I've ever experienced. It was a joyful and glorious celebration of a great man who lived a great life that was inspiring to everyone who know him. Many lives have been changed by his influence. I still miss him . . .

Unfortunately I only got to meet Pastor Crowley twice, but he was a wonderful man and I am very saddened to hear of his passing. God Bless the Crowley family and their loved ones during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Tiffany

I heard about Pastor Crowley’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will be missed by many people. I found the Bible I was given 34 years ago when I was at Summit Lake Camp, cabin #16. It brings back memories. Pastor Crowley was the first to spark a spiritual interest in me. I learned there is a God and he cares about me. Thank you Pastor Crowley for that and for the big pile of rocks that once was a lake. I look forward to seeing him again sometime down the road. As I wait for that happy day, I will continue down the road to eternal life.

The roots of my faith were sent deep by the faithful leadership of a true man of God. How blessed I was to have been baptized and taught God's word by one our Country's best pastors. I thank God for Pastor Crowley's commitment to the vision of Summit Lake and Middle Creek. I cherished the weekends of spiritual renewal and meeting my wife of 27 years in February 1983 on the basketball court above the dining hall. Because Pastor Crowley preached The Word, thousands of lives like mine are faithfully serving our Savior, and one day we will have a retreat that will last forever.

Paster Crowley was a force. He was a true leader of men and women to Christ. For the first 17 years of my life, he was a constant. He was at Church, school, summer camp and retreats, as were his family. I didn't know it at the time, but those memories really mean so much to me.

I look back now and can appreciate the way he brought the power of the Lord's Word to everyone within hearing distance.

Pastor Crowley's style, his laugh, his stare if he caught you talking in church. He is ingrained into my memory.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I pray that you will take solace in knowing he is now with the Lord.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Crowley family, my Pastor Bob was without a doubt one of the most gracious and loving person that I have known, I also was baptized at Montrose and will never forget the wonderful time my wife Kathy and I spent there, when we all get to heaven I'm sure the first person to great us will be Pastor Bob, may God be with you.

Our friend, Bob Crowley was a giant among men. He stood for God’s truth in the beginning days of the conservative movement when very few would take that stand. He put his reputation and ministry on the line. His chairmanship of the Trustees at Southeastern Seminary made a contribution from which thousands of students will benefit through the years. Bob Crowley is a man whom I admire and deeply appreciate.

Not only did he have a ministry to all Southern Baptists, he had an effective ministry to my family. My daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren benefited tremendously through his exemplary lifestyle and his clear teaching of God’s Word. We could not be more grateful to him.

Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain.

Pastor Crowley... what a man! I remember being at Summit Lake Camp in the early 70's as he came riding up on a horse and I thought, here comes John Wayne. My father Donald Crumpler was a single father in the mid 1960's who choose to take his family to Montrose Baptist Church. What a blessing that would be on so many levels. Pastor Crowley loved his congretation and certainly helped our family through trying times. My years at Montrose were some of my best. God blessed us with Pastor Crowley.

I probably share the same memories of Pastor Crowley as many others , as the man whose words lead me to Christ, the man who baptized me, and the man who married my husband and myself. I will always be grateful. My life never would have been the same without my friends and family from Montrose Baptist Church . My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family.

Through Pastor Crowley, my family and I found Christ. Our lives and those of our children and all we will influence for generations shall bear eternal fruit because of him. He was a model of consistency, faithfulness, and leadership for me.

Pastor Crowley and his family had quite a impact on many of our lives. As one of the Spratt twins at Montrose, I can tell you that this great big bear of a man with a huge appetite for life really made an impression on all of the young men of the church. He challenged us, worked us hard (particularly at the camp) and played with us even harder.

Pastor Crowley helped set many young men on the path to becoming the men that they are today. Thank you.

Pastor Crowley, Mrs Crowley (Libby), Montrose and Summit Lake will always be a part of who I am today. I speak of the day I was baptized by Pastor Crowley just like it was yesterday, although it was about 40 years ago. Pastor Crowley had a vision for Montrose and Summit Lake that is still being carried out. He had a true heart for preaching the gospel to children. Train them up ... I made many life long friends and family at Montrose and at Summit Lake. None of this would have been possible without Pastor and Mrs Crowley. Cathy, Ken, Kirk (etc) I'm so sorry for your loss. You know, as Cindy mentioned that he is with his beloved parents and his savior. Let thy mantle fall on me.

I want to personally thank Reverend Crowley in behalf of the whole Toleman family from Randolph Hills. In the 1960's our Daddy (Ira J. Toleman, Jr.) brought all four of his daughters, Bonnie, Debbie, Linda and Mary Jo to Montrose Baptist church where we were introduced to God and Jesus Christ. My Dad re-dedicated his life to Jesus and us four girls accepted Jesus as Our Lord and Saviour. We were all four baptised and joined Montrose Baptist Church. My condolences to Libby, family and friends. When our father was dying in October 2009, Daddy talked of Reverend Crowley and wanted to talk to him. At the time, Reverend Crowley was very ill himself. I know now my Dad and Reverend Crowley are together in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Debbie (Toleman), Weigand

* I personally thank Reverend Crowley for his ministering abilities, his love for people through God and Jesus Christ. My life today is based on the firm foundation of faith I found when I was a teenager back in the mid 60's.

I am so grateful to God for Pastor Crowley, and for his leadership both at Montrose and Summit Lake Camp. My heart goes out to his family at this difficult time. I can imagine him in heaven, after greeting his Savior and his parents, singing "Oh What a Beautiful Morning"....

February 16, 2011

Dear Libby and Family...I was so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. You know that my family and I have a long history with you and your family. I would very much have liked to be at the service to pay my respects in person, however due to a medical procedure I am unable to attend. My thoughts and Prayers are with each of you.
One thing we are certain of, Bob is in God's Loving Hands.
Yours in Christ, Jim Forder

I look forward to fellowshipping once again with this great man of God when I get there. Thank you Pastor Crowley for starting and leading Summit Lake Camp where I (and so many others) gave my life to Jesus. Thank you for that big pile of rocks that once was a lake ;-) Thank you for leading Montrose where I learned all those great hymns of the faith that keep coming back to me again and again. And where my Uncle Joe Toleman with his wife and four daughters heard the gospel that changed and shaped their lives. Thank you for being bold and strong and faithful to preach the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you for allowing God to use you to change so many lives for his glory. I'm sure you are hearing a resounding "well done!"

A Servant's heart is one of the things I remember most about Pastor Crowley. He had a genuine love for God's Word, preaching it, and a genuine love and concern for people....both saved and unsaved. He graciously enriched the lives of many who had the opportunity of hearing him preach God's Word. To live is Christ, and die is gain...and Heaven has gained a precious soul who loves his Lord and Savior. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. May their sorrow be turned into joy....in knowing their loved one is in the presence of our Lord and Savior....and they will see him again!

What an amazing man has been lost to this world. What joy was in heaven when he arrived. Pastor Crowley lead by example and lived the Christian life in every way. He loved Miss Libby so much, my Dad always teased him about "making love to his wife from the pulpit" because he always said such beautiful, loving things about and to her from there. It was under Pastor Crowley that my whole family came to be saved. He loved our Lord so much ...

Pastor Crowley married my husband and I over 36 years ago. I remember him waiting at the back of Montrose Baptist Church after every service greeting everyone. His love of the Lord never waivered. My love to the Crowley family. You are in our prayers.

Pastor Crowley preached God's Word with great conviction and without apology. His spiritual leadership is why I turned my life over to Christ. I am forever in his debt for his unflinching dedication. His homegoing is a great loss for those of us still waiting here; but what a great celebraton is taking place in heaven at his arrival there!

My thoughts and prayers are with the Crowley family. Over 43 years ago the Lord led Shirley and I to Montrose with 6 children 12 and under. It was a life changing experience. The warm fellowship and amazing preaching and teaching of the Word are memories that will never be forgotten. I thank God for "Pastor Bob" and his ministry - he was the greatest man I have ever known.

Asking the question, "Have you got the joy?" was how Pastor Crowley started each session of Summit Lake Camp. He's got the joy now as never before! Our lives have been enriched through his ministry and we carry rich memories of many years at Summit Lake Camp! Joel & Robin Spiess, Woodstock Georgia
