ROBERT J. FLYNN "Bob"
On June 7, 2023 Robert J "Bob" Flynn was a carpenter / cabinet maker by trade doing residential work in his early years. He was a former member of Carpenters Local #582 & 132, Operating Engineers Local #99, and teamsters Local #635. He worked construction on several federal buildings, including the Rayburn Howe office building, the HUD building, the Forrestal building, the US agriculture building in Beltsville, Maryland, and many others. Robert managed several alterations and renovations for The Washington Post properties in the 1970's, 80's and 90's, retiring as their facility manager.
He volunteered at the Capon Valley Ruritan, the Highland Avenue food pantry in Winchester, Virginia, and the backpack ministry in Capon, Bridge, West Virginia. He attended Bethel Methodist Church in Gore, Virginia for many years and most recently, Timber Ridge Christian Church, in High View, West Virginia. Viewing Sunday, June 11, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Giffin's Funeral Home, 2807 Northwestern Turnpike, Capon Bridge, West Virginia.
