Robert Lee Jones, Jr.  
Passed away on March 28, 2022 at the age of 78. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, August 5, 1943 and was a long time resident of Columbia, MD. After graduating from Theodore Roosevelt High in Gary, IN, he enlisted in the Marine Corps receiving his training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. Bob was part of the Third Battalion, Third Marine Division serving in Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan. After being honorably discharged, Bob attended Purdue University receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, he moved to Rochester, NY, to manage Fighton Corporation. In 1970, he moved to Washington, DC, to attend George Washington Law School receiving his law degree in 1974. In 1975, Bob started Link Plus Corp in Columbia, MD, serving as its president until his retirement in 2007. As president, he traveled to four continents and over twenty countries. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Geneva Jones and his sisters Delores Jones White and Jennifer Jones Johnson. He is survived by Patricia, his wife of fifty-five years; son Michael (Keeta) Jones, Upper Marlboro, MD; daughter Jennifer Jones, Columbia,MD; granddaughter Autumn; niece LaTonia (Rodney) Gordon, Chicago, IL; nephew Richard Buckhoy, Indianapolis, IN, and many cousins. A Visitation for Bob will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. Burial will be Private.
