Samuel Brothers Obituary
BROTHERS SAMUEL LEE BROTHERS "Bud" Samuel Lee “Bud” Brothers age 62 of Burgaw, NC died Sunday September 14, 2008 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born November 2, 1945 in New Hanover County son of the late Horace and Frances White Brothers. He was also predeceased by a sister Frances Susan Brothers. Surviving are Aunts and Uncles, Eva White Jones of Burgaw, Albert White and wife Hazel of Rocky Point, Marie Brothers Harrell of Burgaw, Leonard Brothers and wife Margie of VA., Dennis “Rock” Brothers of VA., Annette Brothers of Burgaw, Dorothy Brothers of VA., and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his dog Princess. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Harrell‘s Funeral Home chapel. Reverend J C Young-Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Burgaw Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:00 am Wednesday morning prior to the service at Harrell‘s Funeral Home, and after the service at the home of Dorothy Brothers at 1845 US Hwy. 117 N Burgaw. Memorial contributions can be made to The Zimmer Center 2259 S. 17th St. Wilmington, NC 28401or the charity of ones choice. A service of Harrell‘s Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Burgaw.

I was a teenage friend of Sammy's, having attended Ballston Baptist Church with him in Arlington, VA. He was always a dear, dear friend and he and I even double dated a couple of times as teenagers, with him introducing me to several of his friends, in particular R. J. Whalen. I have tried to find and contact him over the years and I am saddened that I will no longer be able to see him and reminesce with him, particularly about riding around in his yellow GTO convertible after church on Sunday nights. We shall do that in heaven. My condolences to the family and may God bless you and comfort you.
