THOMAS F. TRACY (Age 56)
On October 17, 2014 of Burtonsville, MD. Beloved husband of Carolyn Gatti Tracy; loving father of Kelly, Kevin, and Colleen; cherished son of the late Francis G. and Constance A. Tracy; and caring brother of Michael (Loretta) and Teresa Tracy. He was a graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School ('76) and Towson University ('80). Friends may call at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904 on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 12319 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904 on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Performing Arts Center Campaign at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, www.olgchs.org. Tracy Family - I was greatly saddened to hear the loss of your husband and father. I will.always be eternally grateful for his time, effort, and love he gave the boys in the soccer team throughout SJB years. He always made my son, Jamal feel good. What I appreciated about Tom the most is that he had something special and personal to say about each player and he didn't care if the team won or lost. He was most concerned about the boys having a great time. He was a special, kind hearted, funny, and loving man. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers . I'm so grateful that Tom and his wonderful son Kevin were a part of my son' s childhood. Such a wonderful family. The service on Tuesday was absolutely beautiful. As I told Kevin, I know his dad is very proud if him and his sister for how they spoke of him. Music and words were perfect and way Tom would have liked. Dear Carolyn, Tom will be deeply missed by the world. Even over the years, Tom and I found a way to reach out to each other in times of need and he always made me feel better than before we talked. It seemed Tom always found a way to leave hiis options open to have the most fun and enjoyment. I would guarantee he is sitting next to God at this moment, telling Him jokes, making Him laugh, and sending an immense amount of blessings on you and the family. I know I will miss him dearly. Tom's funeral today held at St. John the Baptist, where the children attended school, was a wonderful send off! The song choices and readings were so uplifting. The eulogy was humorous and well delivered by two of their children: Kevin and Colleen. So many great stories about our Tom brought many smiles to our faces -- just as he would have wanted.
It was a beautiful 65 degree day today at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The rain held off until late in the afternoon. ;-)
The delicious luncheon at the Argyle Country Club was well attended - a testimony of the wonderful family and cherished friendships Tom made over his 56 years. Tom certainly showed us how to make every day count - he certainly lived a favorite quote of mine below:
"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the LIFE in your years." - Abraham Lincoln
Thank you, Tom, for some wonderful memories and showing us how to live our lives to the fullest. You will certainly be missed but the memories you have left us with will live on forever in our hearts.

"What a shock! Tom was absolutely one of my favorite fellow Ruggers during my years at TSU. We had numerous good times together on and off the field. I am truly sorry for your loss as well as ours. My deepest sympathy to all the Tracy families. Tom (Tommy to me) and I first met when our families moved next door to each other; he was 5 and I was 4. We became pretty inseparable for several years, leading a charmed childhood within the confines of College Park Woods. He and I soaked up 60's pop culture but he was always the one to show me the latest--the Monkees to Motown, Twister to Superballs. We built forts, biked the back way to 7-11, and spent much of each summer at the pool. Remembering our favorite TV show, he will always be Batman to my Robin. Godspeed, Tommy

Tom's wake was a wonderful testament to his love of us. So many came to pay their respects to a kind-hearted, funny and lovable guy! There were many stories shared. I liked hearing about the flash mob at Jennie's wedding. Tom was the initial guy to start it off. I'd say it was a perfect choice! Tom, you will be missed but your spirit is alive and well in so many! Thanks for the memories. Rest in peace, Tom.

Dear Carolyn, Kelly, Kevin and Colleen,
Pat and I were deeply saddened to hear of Tom's sudden unexpected passing. Although we had lost touch in recent years, fond memories of Tom's vibrant personality, sense of humor and devotion to family stand out in our minds. When Pat's mother was gravely ill, Tom managed to find time to build a third bedroom in our home for her, for which we will always be grateful.

To The Whole Tracy Family,
My deepest sympathy goes to you all. I was the real estate agent that helped Frank sell his house in College Park and I could not have done it without Tom's help. He was such an amazing son. The care he gave to Frank was tremendous and you could see the loving relationship they had. Tom was always available to help me and came to his Dad's settlement to make sure the transaction went through. He was simply marvelous.
I could tell this was his way and that he was just being "Tom". He had a jovial spirit about him that was infectious. A beautiful soul.

Dear Carolyn, children, and family,
We are shocked and saddened by Tom's passing. We pray that your hearts will heal and understand the love that so many have for Tom and all of you.
It is only in the past month that we have really felt his friendship as he helped our son Chris through some hard times. We spoke Thursday night and his concern was for his friend Chris. It is unreal that we will not be talking again, but he will be with us in his great spirit.

I was shocked this morning when I heard Tom passed away. I was fortunate enough to meet Tom at Towson University as we both attended college together and lived in the ever famous Scarborough Hall. We even went to Spring Break at Fort Lauderdale together. Tom without a doubt had a joke for any occasion. He always had us in stitches. The greatest compliment I can pay Tom is he never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a class act. Take comfort in knowing that he left behind a treasure chest filled with precious memories that we can all cherish forever. While his physical presence may have been taken from us, trust me, he will never be forgotten. His candle burned out long before his memory ever will. Tom made it his mission in life to make sure everyone around him was having a good time. We've been friends since 4th grade and, as fate would have it, he became my brother-in-law when we married sisters.
