Carol R. Borchardt, 71, a life-time resident of rural Edgar, WI died peacefully on Wednesday, June 18th, 2014, at the Palliative Care Unit of Aspirus Wausau Hospital, with family and friends at her side.

Carol was born on March 8th, 1943 in Marshfield to William and Charlotte (Heppner) Borchardt. She grew up on the family farm and lived in the Town of Frankfurt most of her life.

For the past six years, Carol lived at Eagle's View Group Home in Wausau, WI. Carol embraced life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed the holidays, her annual birthday celebration, shopping, and spending time at the park. She is survived by her sister Betty (Gary) Walters, Wausau, WI; brother-in-law Ronald Reiche, Edgar, WI; and sister-in-law Pat Emon, Stratford, WI and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, William and Charlotte (Heppner) Borchardt; sister, Jean Reiche; and brother, Robert Borchardt.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held at Noon on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, W1000 Cty Hwy N, Edgar, WI. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m until time of services at the church. Rev. Gail Sowell will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
