William Swisher Obituary

WELLSVILLE - William D. "Butch" Swisher, age 51, of Rauber Street passed away at home on Tuesday (Oct. 6, 2015). He was born on Oct. 9, 1963, in Chambersburg, Pa., to Franklin and Nelda Kessinger Swisher. On July 20, 1985, he married Sarah Hart, who survives.

Butch graduated from Wellsville High School in 1982. He had been a resident of Mount Wolf, Pa., and worked for Air Gas in Harrisburg, Pa., until 2014.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah of Wellsville; his 3 daughters, Josephine Swisher of York, Pa., Rachel Swisher of York, Pa., and Erin Swisher of Wellsville; 2 grandsons, Noah Wentz and Matthew Miller; a brother, Jeff (Sharon) Swisher; a sister, Deb (Charlie) Shipe; several nieces and nephews.

Butch was predeceased by his parents, Franklin and Nelda.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday (Oct. 10, 2015) at 11:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wellsville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception School, 24 Maple Avenue, Wellsville, NY 14895. To leave online condolences please visit www.embserfuneralhome.com.

Sara, I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember Butch from the time he was in high school with Jim. What a character! he was always so nice to me and Jim's Dad. over the years Jim has tried to keep in touch with him. He always spoke of their days at WHS with a laugh. Keep the good times in your heart and rely on your family to give you comfort.
