Renata Zacco
Renata Zacco, 88, passed away on October 30, 2025, following a long illness.
Born in Newport, Wales, Renata spent the first few years of her life living in the United Kingdom. Due to the outbreak of World War II, Renata and her family were forced to return to their family village in Italy and rebuild their lives.
At the age of eighteen, Renata returned to Wales to join her brother and sister, who were living in Cardiff. It was in Cardiff that she met her husband, Pietro, who had the ultimate dream of moving to the United States to enter into business with his brother. They welcomed their daughters, Gabriella and Paola, into the world while living in Queens, New York and moved to Southington, Connecticut, where Pietro served as the co-owner and chef at The Pavilion in Cheshire. Following Pietro's unexpected passing, Renata found a new sense of purpose through the Infant 1 Room at the Stork Club, where she worked for many years. She loved and was devoted to taking good care of "her babies." After moving from Southington, Renata discovered new areas of the country while living with her daughters in Moraga, California, and Old Lyme, Connecticut.
Renata was predeceased by her parents, Leonilde Chiappa and Severino Belli, husband, Pietro Zacco, and her daughter, Gabriella Zacco. Renata is survived by her daughter, Paola Barry, son-in-laws, David Barry and Renato Tavecchio, and her grandchildren, Giorgio Tavecchio, Marisa Barry, Marco Tavecchio and Matthew Barry. She is also survived by her siblings, Maria Rolleri, Aldo Belli, Paola Bergamaschi, Anita Coloretti and Gianpaolo Belli, her sister-in-law, Nilda Zacco, brother-in-law, Renato Marciò, and numerous nieces and nephews in the United States, Italy and the United Kingdom.
Arrangements: All services for Renata are going to be held privately, and at the convenience of the family in Italy. Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, has been entrusted with handling Renata's arrangemnents.
