Santina Bean Obituary

Santina M. (Sandy) Bean, wife of the late Bernard Bean passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bayonne, NJ, on September 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Santos and Carmella Mattiello. Sandy was employed at New Departure for a short time where she met her loving husband, Bernie of 48 years. After eloping, they went on to reside in South Meriden and had 5 children. Once the children were in school, Sandy went to work at All Molded Plastics where she became part of the Scott family and was a proud inspector of government parts, retiring after 45 years. Sandy was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of Holy Angels Church. She was a member of the Holy Angels woman's club and a Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the South Meriden mother's circle and the Red Hats. Sandy is survived by her daughters, Donna Lott Ariale (Fredrick) of Deep River, Bernadette Niland (Robert) of Portland and Gerarda McIntyre (Joseph) of Wallingford; her daughter-in-law, Karen Bean of Essex. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Besides her immediate children, Sandy was like a second mother to the late Rev. Robert Lysz. She had numerous friends, including her "besties" the Ho-Ha-Bes. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marie Lang (Lou Denette) and her son John Bean. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Complete Care for their compassionate care of "Ms. Bean." Family and friends are invited to call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 4 to 7 pm. I remember Sandy as a friend of my father George LaComb. Sandy was a good friend to him and mentioned her often. My sister Susan was a friend to one of her daughters and I saw her often at mass at Holy Angels. I know she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Bernadette
Sorry to learn of your mothers death.
She was always a welcome breath of fresh air when she visited the JC Penney salon all those many years ago. Appears she was rewarded with a long and
blessed life. Condolences to all your family. Love to you. Pat
