Vittorio Mario Perugini

WATERBURY, CT Vittorio Mario Perugini "Beloved father, grandfather & brother" Vittorio Mario Perugini, 92, entered the gates of Heaven unexpectedly on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Nicolina (Calabrese) Perugini who passed away in 2018. Vittorio was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy on October 1, 1932, a son of the late Rocco and Marianna (Guerrera) Perugini. After leaving Italy in his youth, Vittorio lived in Venezuela and then in England for several years, before finally moving to the United States in 1972 and settling in Waterbury. Vittorio worked for Scovill/Century Brass, and then Albert Brothers before his retirement. Vittorio was an avid gardener, tending to his own at his Waterbury home and another at his son's home, and was happy to give away much of what he grew, often producing enough for an entire community. He also enjoyed caring for his fig and fruit trees, canning, cooking and making his homemade wine. Vittorio loved the time he spent with his family, grandchildren, and many friends. He leaves his two children, Anna Maria Perugini, with whom Vittorio lived with, and Rocco Perugini and his wife, Carie, of Watertown, his two loving grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Perugini. Also, his two sisters, Nicolina Mancini and Giuseppina DelCiampo both of Italy, a sister-in-law, Romilda Calabrese of Waterbury, and nephews: Salvatore Mancini, Valentino DiBlasi, and Nicola DelCiampo of Italy, cousins, Delia (Pasquale) Cianfagna, Brigida (John) Tirino and Nicola (Louise) Perugini. Vittorio was predeceased by his two siblings, Giocondina DiBlasi and Gabriel Perugini. Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Church ~ Holy Disciples Parish, 574 Main Street, Watertown. Anyone wishing to attend Mass are asked to meet directly at the church on Friday. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 6th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.
