Lloyd Alexander, 86, of Augusta, IL died at 4:45 pm Thursday March 11, 2021 at St. Vincent's Home in Quincy, IL.
He was born on June 18, 1934 in Augusta, IL to Ollie M. and Lois C. West Alexander. He was united in marriage to Joan M. Janssen on November 14, 1954 in Golden, IL. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2010.
Lloyd was a graduate of Augusta High School. He was a lifelong farmer in the Augusta area. He was a member and served on the church council of the Faith Lutheran Church in Augusta. Lloyd was a Cub Scout leader in his younger years, he enjoyed motorcycle riding, square dancing and traveling.
He is survived by 2 sons; Randall D. (Therese) Alexander of Middleburg, FL, Donald L. (Cindy) Alexander of Augusta, IL, a daughter, Dr. Lisa Learn (Nick) Murtha of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 6 grandchildren, Aaron, Lexie and Austin Alexander, Lauren Learn, Kara Surratt, Andrew Stuller, 5 great-grandchildren, Landon and Macie Surratt, Alexis and Enzley Stuller, Maelynn Gosney and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Ryan Alexander and 2 brothers, Jim and Sterling Alexander.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday March 15, 2021 in the Faith Lutheran Church in Augusta, IL with Pastor Rick Hertenstein officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery in Augusta. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
