Marvin Feinman Obituary

Marvin Allan Feinman, 79, of Brookline passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Greenwood House in Ewing, N.J., after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving son of the late Isadore and Florence (Bodner) Feinman. He leaves behind his sister, Bernice Lemack and her husband, Edward of Allentown, N.J., four nieces, Bonnie Austin, Heidi Beck and her husband, Jason, Stacey Rise and her husband, Steven and Jodi Hills and her husband, Donald, as well as eight great-nieces and nephews. Marvin was a highly regarded Industrial Engineer graduate of Georgia Tech, as well as a Korean War Veteran and was employed for many years at Western Electric and Boeing. Upon retiring from the private sector, Marvin entered into the democratic public limelight in Brookline. Through his wonderful journey in life, he was an advocate for the people. He was instrumental for tenant rights as VP Brookline Tenant Union. A Town Meeting Member for 30 years, he was so passionate about each and every cause that he never missed a meeting. He was also a Constable for Norfolk County, a delegate to Democratic State Conventions, an Associate Member on the Council on Aging in Brookline, on the Executive Board of The Muddy River and was elected to 100 Centre Street Resident Council. He will be missed by his family, friends and associates. Services will be held at the Levine Chapel in Brookline on Sunday, June 12. Interment will follow at the Jewish Benevolent Cemetery, Grove Street, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Division of Hematology and Oncology, RABB 430, 330 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
