Eva was born on November 3, 1922, in Worcester, MA, and raised in Holden, MA. Following high school she and her parents moved to Rockport, MA where she met the love of her life, Carl at a dance. Eva and Carl were married in Rockport in 1946. They made their home and raised their family in Swampscott, MA. Eva and Carl shared many mutual interests. They both loved to be in Rockport. They spend many happy summers camping together at state and national parks. Together they built a loving home. Throughout their marriage they shared many joys and sorrows but underneath it all was a rock solid commitment to one another. After graduating from Salem State College in 1945, Eva taught High School English and Drama in Woodstock, VT. She was very happy teaching and she loved the beauty of Vermont. Mom was a born teacher and used her teaching and mentoring skills throughout her life. In 1966, Eva began her employment as Head of Circulation at Swampscott Public Library. The favorite part of her job was training young high school students to be pages at the library. She retired in 1982. Eva was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Lynn, Ma. She and Carl raised their daughters to be devoted to God and enjoy a personal relationship with Him. Throughout her many years at the Lynn Nazarene church, Eva participated in many church related activities. She was a member of the church board for several years serving as its secretary. She used her artistic talents by making numerous bulletin board displays and staging and props for children's productions. Countless times whenever a visiting missionary or guest speaker ministered at the church, it was Eva who provided a delicious home cooked meal and gracious hospitality afterwards. The ministry at the church where she felt that she had the most joy and impact on others was the many years that she taught the Junior High Sunday School class. She genuinely loved all of her students and prayed for them all daily. Several of her former students have kept in touch and became lifelong friends. Much of Evas life revolved around her family and her close circle of friends whom she loved as members of her family. Throughout the years she enjoyed nothing more than gathering with family and friends at her favorite place Rockport, or having loved ones sit with her during a church service. For decades family birthdays, meals of lobster for Labor Day, Thanksgiving Dinners, and Traditional Swedish Christmas Eve family gatherings were all celebrated in her home. Eva was passionate about poetry and literature, many genres of music and all things Swedish. She was very proud of her Swedish heritage. Many of Eva's friends of all ages considered her a sister or a second mom. To her family and all who were blessed to know her she will always be remembered with love. Her visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:30AM-11:30AM in the First Church of the Nazarene, 233 Eastern Ave., Lynn, with a funeral service beginning at 11:30AM. Following a fellowship in the church hall, burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Rockport. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
