Robert J. Butterworth

1951 - 2019

Robert J. Butterworth, 67, of Homosassa, Fla., and Scituate, passed away at home on December 22, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. He was the loving father of Kelly (Nolan) of Scituate, Bryan (Jacqueline) of Holly Springs, N.C., and David Butterworth (Lisa) of Carver; "Bubs" leaves behind his greatest treasures, his nine grandchildren, Liam Jack and Ryan Kelly, Thomas and James Butterworth, Carter, Hazel, Troy and Ajay Butterworth. He is survived by his four siblings, Marsha Benedetti of Homosassa, Fla., William Butterworth of Homosassa, Fla., Barbara West of Dunnellon, Fla., and twin brother Richard J. Butterworth of Ipswich; and many nieces and nephews. Bob and his nephew Dan Benedetti of Sarasota, Fla., shared a special bond. Bob was born in Quincy, December 3, 1951, to the late J. Marshall and Louise M. (Kelly) Butterworth. He was an alumnus of Scituate High School and American International. He spent his career in the cutting tool industry. In his spare time Bob was an avid sports fan and supporter of his children's many athletic endeavors. He was a voracious reader, loved playing golf and hearing about his grandchildren's adventures.
