Mary Lucchesi Obituary

Mary A. (Averi) Charpentier Lucchesi, 92, of Walpole, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at Norwood Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Lucchesi. Born in Walpole, MA on September 13, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Paul and Stella Gasperini) Averi. Mary was a lifelong resident of Walpole and a graduate of Walpole High School. After high school Mary went back to school to become a LPN. She worked as an LPN at Wrentham Developmental Center and at MCI Cedar Junction before retiring after a long career. In her spare time she loved cooking, playing Bingo, completing word searches, square dancing, and embroidering. She was an active member of the Beach Meadow Campus Association in Matunick Rhode Island for over 20 years. She is survived by her daughter Rosemary Coates and her husband Michael of Plainville, MA and her grandchildren, Alfred Conant Jr. of Holbrook, MA, Jennifer (Leslie) Howarth of West Warwick, RI, Jonathan (Andrea) Coates of Middleborough, MA, Jessica (Richard) Caron of West Haven, CT, and Jillian (Andy) Hill of Houston, TX, and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Brando Averi of CA and Edward Averi of Walpole. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Anne Dangelo and Cira Prisco, and her grandson, Shawn Coates. At the request of the family funeral services are private and are under the care of Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com). In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her name to the Living Bread Food Pantry c/o the Plainville United Methodist Church, 16 East Bacon Street, Plainville, MA 02762.
