Luther Styers Obituary
September 28, 1943 - May 23, 2021
Luther "L.C." Styers, 77, passed away Sunday, May 23rd, 2021. He was born in Forsyth County on September 28th, 1943 to the late Luther and Hazel Styers. Mr. Styers was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired Assistant Vice President of Office Services from Integon Corporation. After retirement, L.C. began working part time as a golf pro, first at Reynolds Park, and then Oak Valley Golf Club. He gave numerous lessons and enjoyed his work around his favorite hobby. In addition to golf, L.C. loved watching UNC sports, especially basketball. His favorite color was Carolina blue. L.C. also enjoyed trips to the beach with his family, going "visiting," classic cars, and his church. Mr. Styers is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan Styers; two daughters, Jennifer Webb (Tim) of Clemmons, and Anna Styers of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Sarah Webb (Jesse) of Charlotte and Matthew Webb (Aleksandra) of Crestview, FL. He had three great-grandchildren: Ava and Claire Webb, and Camdyn Evans. He is also survived by his sister, Shelby Fields of Troy, NC. He is predeceased by his parents, Luther and Hazel Styers; sister, Lois Hill; and loving dog and best buddy, Scout. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 29th, 2021 at Clemmons Moravian Church Graveyard with Rev. Christopher Thore officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clemmons Moravian Church. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
