Mr. William W. Northcott, 80, of Winston-Salem died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Morningside Assisted Living in Raleigh. He was born Jan. 13, 1924, in Randolph County to Homer O. and Elsie Doss Northcott. Mr. Northcott was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a 1950 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy and was a member of the North Carolina Pharmaceutical Association. He was a retired pharmacist and was a founding partner of Crown Drugs of Winston-Salem. He was also a member of Salem Masonic Lodge No. 289 and the Oasis Shriner's Temple of Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Lyerly Northcott, in 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Carol N. Leach and husband Chris of Durham and Elizabeth N. Snitzer and husband Marc of Columbia Station, Ohio; a son, Robert W. Northcott and wife Lisbeth of Carlisle Pa.; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Robert S. Northcott and wife Julie of Colonial Heights, Va.; and two sisters, Marie Eller and Josephine Thorpe of Onley, Va. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel by the Rev. Stephen P. McCutchan. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
