Gaston A. Rondeau

BURRILLVILLE - Gaston A. Rondeau, 90, of Round Top Rd., died April 23, 2017 at home. He was the husband of the late Carmen T. (Robert) Rondeau. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Adolphe and Delina (Lizee) Rondeau.
A Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, Mr. Rondeau worked as an Installer for Whitten Corp., Mendon, MA for twenty years and also worked for Electric Boat, Groton, CT and the former Mitris Building Company. As part of his work, he installed Whitten filtration systems for municipal pools throughout the United States and around the world, including Ivy League universities, Olympic venues, the White House during the Ford administration, Egypt, and various other locations. Gaston was a creative man who enjoyed oil painting, carpentry, woodcarving, gardening, wine making, Egyptian history, Hershey chocolate and flying private planes with his brother Gerry. He is remembered for his incredible sense of humor, a strong work ethic, and a deep devotion to his faith and family.
He is survived by a son, Dennis Rondeau and his wife Linda of Magnolia, TX; three daughters, Jeanne Fountain of Woodbury, NJ, Suzanne Dec and her husband Kenneth of Mendon, MA and Michelle Losardo and her husband Dino of Harrisville; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Romeo, Isidore, Napoleon, and Gerard Rondeau, Yvonne Duguay, Emeliana Heroux, Medora Heroux, Marie-Rose Lachance, Antoinette Malboeuf and Marie-Laure Turcotte.
His funeral will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 beginning with visitation from 8:30 - 10:15 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Our Lady of Good Help Church, 1063 Victory Highway, Mapleville. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Rd, Bellingham, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
