Wayne Gunter

Tupelo-Jerry Wayne Gunter, 63, departed this life after a period of declining on Thursday evening, July 321, 2025 after a period of declining health. Born in West Point to Ernest Gunter and Nobie Dean Gunter, who survive, he spent much of his adult life in the Tupelo area but had served in the U. S Army spending time in Germany and lived and traveled out West as a Industrial Construction Manager. He also spent time on a off shore drilling rig. He was a longtime member of the West Jackson St. Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, was an avid deer hunter and fished religiously. Wayne lived life large and cut a wide path in his 63 years. Wayne is survived by his mom and dad, Ernest and Nobie Gunter of Tupelo; his children, Justin Gunter, Joel Gunter, Amy Gunter and Jessica Gunter; a grandchild, Mary and a sister, Tammy Benefield.
