Peggy Ryan Obituary
York - Peggy J. (Cox) Ryan, 85, died on Friday, May 10, 2019, at her residence. She is the wife of Thomas J. Ryan to whom she was married for 67 years.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 6:00pm, at Heritage Hills Golf Resort, 2700 Mount Rose Ave., York, PA 17402.
Born on July 1, 1933, in Harrisburg, Peggy is a daughter of the late Walter B. Cox and Ethel M. (Eppinger) Kindness.
Peggy was the controller and co-owner of Motor Technology, Inc. She was a member of Church of Christ. Peggy was always ahead of the fashion trends and is known for her impeccable taste in fashion and home decor. She generously gave to those most in need through various charities. Most importantly, she was the proud matriarch of a family she loved and never hesitated to take care of.
Along with her husband, Thomas, Peggy is survived by two sons, Thomas B. Ryan of York, and Kirk E. Ryan and wife, Karen of Lewisberry; daughter, L. Kim Flaharty and husband, Barry of York; nine grandchildren, Stacey A. Metzel and husband, Kenneth, Thomas B. Ryan, Jr. and wife, Katherine, Erin D. Stenson and husband, Daniel, J. Nichole Salisbury, Kristen M. Wassel and husband, Matthew, Kirk E. Ryan, Jr. and wife, Natalie, Megan J. Hake and husband, Vincent, Jonathan E. Ryan and fiancé, Jennifer and Andrew C. Ryan and wife, Samantha; nineteen great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Cox and wife, Susie of Marietta; three sisters, Nancy Gigliotti of Hershey, Donna Drake and husband, William of Dauphin and Charlene Keeney and husband, Gordon of Lebanon; and sisters in law, Peggy Cox of Florida and Sarah Cox of Texas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Robert Cox.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17100 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I am so blessed to have the honor to care for peggy. In the short time I had to work with her she was a beautiful woman and strong willed. I love you peggy joyce cox and I know you are an angel in heaven for you were one here on earth. You have wonderful children and a great hubby Tom. For the short time I knew Peggy she was A sweet and sometimes sassy lady. I enjoyed caring for her and getting to know her. I am extremely grateful I got the opportunity to be with her. Her husband Tom is a sweet person as well along with their daughter Kim. I also had the opportunity to meet some of the family, what a blessing to be able to meet such wonderful people.
