Anna Davy Obituary
Anna Rose was the co-owner of Oak Super Market, Pleasant Acres Dairy Farm, owner of Shady Acres Mobile Home Park, and Ace Economy Lumber store. In her later years she was an office manager and bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and Slovene National Benefit Society. She enjoyed daily mass, spending time with family and friends and walks praying the rosary. She also liked spending time on her computer and crocheting.
Anna Rose is survived by her daughters Gail (Frank) Farrar, Mary (Dave Waters) Engstler and Janet (Chad) Pierson; sons, Jim Davy, Bryan (Angie) Davy and Douglas (Carol) Davy; brother, Carlos (Bernadine) Astesana; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Alice Astesana; husband, James Davy; brother, Jamie Astesana and granddaughter, Tiffany Farrar.
Rosary will be held on February 1, 2013 at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 7pm with viewing from 7pm to 9pm. Mass will be held on February 2, 2013 at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 1pm. Graveside service will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park with Father Chris Orndorff officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Davy, Mike Davy, Matthew and Steven Engstler, Jacob and Nicholas Pierson, Douglas Davy, Austin Davy.

We are so sorry that our loving cousin, Anna Rose, has passed away. It's such a great loss to lose someone who's been with you your entire life. We shared so much and have so many wonderful memories.
We are comforted in the knowledge that she is with our Heavenly Father and the many family and friends who have gone before us, no longer suffering in pain and sorrow, but rejoicing in God's promise of eternal life and happiness.
We send our love and sympathy to all members of the Davy Family. Mildred, Georgian and Kathy, and families.

My beautiful Mom,
I am so joyous for you. I am glad you are with the Lord, Dad and family and friends. My heart also misses you so vey much, what a void. You gave each one us personally so much. Remarkable Mom. We were so blessed to have you as our Mom. There is big shoes to fill to try to walk in your examples. You were my best best friend. God, Please give the strength to endure this and work through it all. You were so patience always unbelievable unconditionally loving. Forgave instantly so gentle, understanding, devoted, gave everything you had to help each one of us no matter what. You were a very great teacher extremely organize, unbelieveable when it came to numbers. Taught us about God , how to pray, great prayer warrior and led many to salvation always daily attended church and said the rosary. Your spirit is so beautiful. I still hear you and feel your present.. Mom I can't tell you enough what you meant to me, there is no words to tell what all I feel. I Love you with the greatest Love. Thank you Mom for all you are and for being the greatest MOM. Also saying good about everyone. You are so very precious to me. thank YOU FOR ALL THE PATIENCE AND TOLERANCE You gave me unselfishness completely, full attention, interest. It's Easter time and Oh! do we miss you and every day, this hurt just won't leave, I Love you very very much.

Gail and all of the Davy family. We mourn your loss of your lovely vivacious Mother. Grandma Rose is remarkable is too many ways to list. What wonderful memories she made to last a life time. A gorgeous woman with a gorgeous spirit.

Anna Rose Davy was born in Bozeman, Montana on August 8, 1926. She was a part of what many refer to as the greatest generation. Little did she know that God had plans for her to bring into this world six busy kids, and to be grandmother to so many grandkids and great-grandchildren whom she never failed to give all of herself and abundant loving attention too. We don't know how she did it. Maybe it was because there was not so much T.V., no computers, email, Facebook, and cell phones. She could be found however focusing on supporting our father in different business ventures of theirs, like the Oak Super Market in Grass Valley, our dairy ranch outside of Sacramento, the trailer park when we first came to Yuma, also being a secretary in our father's insurance business, office manager at another family business, Ace Economy Lumber & Hardware, then giving support to our father in real estate, a office manager and bookkeeper at local hardware and lumber yards till finally retiring at age 74.
But that was Anna Rose's side jobs, it seems her real job and her joy, was in keeping up with the kids and eventually her grandkids busy schedules. Mom's taxi service somehow always kept up, and saw us through our activities and daily crisis on a day to day basis. In between times there was the sewing and mending of clothes, stacks & stacks of laundry and cloth diapers. Our closets, clothes drawers, kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, freezer, and linen closets were stocked and always ready to go despite the lean budget much of the time. Trying to get the best deals, she shopped and then shopped some more to keep everything and us going and yet, somehow all without Amazon com. She was chief cook and bottle washer always making sure we had a good breakfast before school, lunches, and homemade balanced dinners. Her duties also included being the maid, housecleaner, and everything imaginable in between. She got us all to church, 4H & Scouts, school and activities, plays, did playground duty, gardening & yard work, and yet still found time for us to do homework, and being the resident nurse fixing cut knee's and more. This is a small glimpse of all the things she somehow managed despite the many challenges.
Anna Rose was an ever faithful devout Catholic. She made sure all of us were raised that way too. She attended Mount St. Mary's School and in turn saw to it that we all went to Catholic school and religion classes. Growing up we remembered praying the rosary after dinner for the many intentions of our family, relatives, and friends. She continued in prayer groups, daily mass and praying the rosary on her early morning walks. She instilled in us by her own good example, the importance of family, religion, good morals, and doing the right thing. We can never remember her saying something against anyone that was less than positive and or nice. People she knew, always remarked what a kind friend she was. We think that was because she was such a good and caring listener. She was always ready to help as she was generous and outgoing. She took an active part in Catholic Daughters of America, helping count the church collections, ironing the altar linens, and supporting St. Francis School. We remembered both our parents going without, more times than not, so we all could have something more. God knows we fall short at times, but we don't think we will get it as right, or as good, as they did for us. They set the right foundations for us. Yes indeed, she set a high standard for all of us to follow.
The center of Anna Rose's life was her family and grandchildren. She lived for, and loved the visits, and any chance to get together. We cannot imagine having a better Mom and Grandmother. She never failed us. We cannot remember a time when she did not support us in whatever it was that our hearts set out to do, this even though logic said to do otherwise. Mom always made us so very proud to be our Mom and Grandmother. This is only exceeded by the unconditional love she gave back to each and every one of us. Mom always made it a point to appreciate and make a big deal for even the smallest of things or actions. When we were younger, it sometimes was hard to appreciate the many things Mom & Dad did for us growing up, and she continued to do right up to the end. We a see a whole lot clearer now the many things they had tried to do for us, had they believed in us, and the many positive things that was passed on to make us better. We go on and on and still we would fall way short in all she did in her life all around. We cannot thank you enough Mom and Grandma, we all are better for having you in our lives.

Rose was my next door neighbor for 22 years and a good friend. She always saw the best qualitgies in others and never spoke a harsh word about anyone. I will deeply miss her.

Please know that the entire family is in my thoughts and prayers as we give Anna back to God. I've known her since our children were in grade school together and she was always such a gracious and gentle soul. And now that soul is your very own special guardian angel who will be watching over you now through eternity.
