Hazel Tucker Obituary
BLUE ROCK: Hazel Irene Brandenburg Tucker, 98, of Blue Rock, died at Cedar Hill Care Center on Friday, October 31, 2014. She was born July 1, 1916 in Woodford County, KY to the late Stephen Allen and Sarah Jane Coyle Brandenburg. Hazel was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church of DeLand, FL and a long time member of the Methodist Women's Society. She graduated from Versailles High, Versailles, KY and Fugazzi Business College in Lexington, KY. Hazel was a former Real Estate and Fire Insurance Secretary in Lexington, KY., she taught Business Education at Hazel Green Academy in Hazel Green, KY. For more than twenty years Mrs. Tucker served as an Office Manager to Dr. William Corzine, OB/Gynecologist of Chillicothe. During their young married life when job changes necessitated moving, she did a wonderful job of caring for the children and making most of the moving arrangements while Vernon went ahead to begin the new job.
Surviving are her loving husband of 77 years, Marion V. Tucker of the home, whom she married on Sept 16, 1937; a son, M. Vernon (Grace) Tucker Jr. of Duncan Falls; two daughters, Brenda Blanton of Tucson, AZ and Karen (Scott) Kovach of Cincinnati; two grandsons; six granddaughters; six great grandsons; and six great granddaughters.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Lee Brandenburg.
No calling hours or service will be observed. A dignified cremation has taken place. BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE has been entrusted with all arrangements. Hazel's interment will be in the Tucker Family plot in the Sonora Memorial Cemetery of Sonora, Ky. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date in honor of Hazel's life.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Transylvania University, Scholarship Fund, 300 N. Broadway, Lexington, KY 40508-1797 or Genesis Hospice- Morrison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH 43701.
