She went on to Kent State University, from which she graduated in 1971 with a BS in Ed. While attending Kent State, she met her future husband, Robert (Bob) Jenkins. They were married March 25, 1972 in Upper Arlington. My mother in law, Jan, welcomed me like a daughter from the start of our relationship. She became a strong support for me and was always so kind and encouraging. Her warmth enveloped Mark and I, and the joy and love she felt for Anneka, her granddaughter, was a sight to see. Jan will always be loved and cherished by her family and all who knew her.

Mrs Jenkins was my 2nd grade teacher at Dillon Elementary in 1996. She was one of my favorite teachers and was always so sweet and kind. I know all of her students would attest to this. She was a teacher to remember and I’m grateful to be one of her students.

My sister, Jan, was such a sweet, caring person. I will always remember her as a person who thought about everyone before herself. Rest in peace my dear sister.
