Russell Mullin Obituary

Russell B. Mullin, 48, of Thousand Oaks died peacefully at his home on Aug. 8, 2007, after battling lung cancer for 11 months.

Russell was born Oct. 11, 1958, in Los Angeles. He worked in the lumber business for 27 years.

Russell will be remembered for his love of family, friends and the mountains. He connected with and saw humanity in everyone he met. Russell will be dearly missed by a wide circle of family, friends, coworkers and by all whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Mullin, and brother, Tom Mullin.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; children, Brett and Colton; parents Terry and Sharon Mullin; sister, Reilley Mullin; and his dog, Wesley.

Russell's love and beautiful spirit will live in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13 at Calvary Community Church, 5495 Via Rocas, Westlake Village.

In lieu of flowers, at Russell's request, donations may be made in his memory to the Los Angeles Mission (homeless shelter), 303 E. Fifth St., Los Angeles, CA 90013; phone 213-629-1227.

Our deepest Sympathies to Mary Ellen, Brett, Colton, and the Mullin family. Russell made a deep and lasting impresssion on our lives. Russell was a caring, humble, and generous friend who loved life to its fullest. He gave all of himself to everyone he encountered. We will miss him deeply and remember him in our hearts.

Russ, Ted and I will always remember our hikes with you in mountains behind your house. We enjoyed that time with you and think of it often. I'm sure Ted will never forget everything you taught him about the lumber business. You were a great friend to him and he has only the highest respect for you. You will be missed.
