I thank God for allowing me the time that I shared with him and I'm thankful that he had the chance to be a part of his grandkids lives. He was a gift from God and I will miss him very much. Dear Mitchell Family,

I extend my condolences to you at this time of great loss and my prayers have been and are with you.

I met Keith in 2001 when I was hired to work at Pension Benefits Guarantee Corporation. I always found in him to be a determined, strong and satisfied person with himself and with life. He excepted it as it came. He always said when his time came to go home to be with the Lord that he would have no regrets because he had lived his life the way it was meant to be lived. When I met Keith I never realized for a moment what kind of impact that he would have on my life had I known of all of the gifts that I received from our friendship, it may have scared me. He was very tough when he needed to be but he was also very generouse too and kind. He taught me so many things in these last 7 years that I don't know where to begin. He was the big brother that I needed and sometimes the father, confidant and friend. I loved him very much and my life has become just a bit more empty without him. I shall miss those calls when he would say "hey Eddie its me Keith" as if I did not know his voice. I shall miss the many conversations that we have shared together laughing and joking and just plain talking trash. I shall miss my friend because he was one of the best I ever, ever had in this world and you don't get too many good ones these days who will love you just for who you are. I shall not forget when I sent him a letter telling him how much he meant to me and how his friendship changed my life and how as soon as he got it he called me and told me that this was one of the best gifts he'd ever received. I shall not forget the pride that was in his voice when I told him that I had answered the Lord's calling on my life to be a minister of the gospel and then move on to be a pastor. My heart is truly broken and it will take me sometime to get over this great loss. I will miss those calls that I used to get from him telling me where he had just come from racing. But most of all I shall miss him always until the day I die. I love you my friend, my brother and my confidant. We hardly ever hung up the phone without saying "I love you man". This time will be no different "I love you man" I won't say goodby but so long until I see you again in heaven.

Your friend and brother

Pastor Eddie A. Sloan Sr.

There are no words to describe the loss of Keith. The last 8 years of my life have truly been blessed to have him a part of it and I will never forget him or what he represented.

He was a wonderful man with a lot to offer his loved ones and the rest of the world. He had a heart of gold......if only it would have kept beating.

My children will always love and remember all the good times with “Mr. Keith”. He will truly be missed by all but never forgotten by any.

We love you and miss you Keith.

Keith Mitchell, was a co-worker/supervisor of mine. He was a hardworker and a very loving and caring person. We've had many conversations, but I will never forget the motto he lived by. He said "Yolanda, live life to the fullest - have NO regrets"!

He lived life the way he wanted to.... with NO regrets.

Keith,

You were a friend, advisor and a father, not only to me but to many throughout your lifetime. You will be missed, greatly!

Love,
Yolanda and Sterling
