Arthur Jones Obituary
Jones died Monday at Brigham and Women's Hospital of complications from treatment for leukemia, The Boston Globe reported.
Jones was part of the staff at The Boston Globe that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Meritorious Public Service in 1975 for the paper's coverage of school desegregation. He also was an award-winning reporter for WBZ-TV.
After leaving the media in 1981, Jones taught journalism at Boston University before becoming a spokesman for Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis, Boston Mayor Raymond Flynn and, from 1993 to 1995, President Clinton. Most recently, he was director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology news office.

My memories of Arthur are those of a unique, proud and talented man who had a golden aura about him. The news of his death saddens me terribly. His loss for you who loved him must be painful. My wish for him in death is that it be as glorious as was his life.
