Rex Humbard was the first preacher I watched on TV , this was on Sundays evenings between 1973 and 1975 on NTA channel 10 in Lagos, Nigeria. His ministry touched and shaped my life as he planted and a couple of others including Archbishop Benson Idahosa watered. I thank God for his ministry because I eventually became saved, my prayer is that as he has ministered to us(others) his family will be watered continually. Rex Humbard was a rare breed. Thank you Lord for raising such preachers.

It is neither the beginning nor the end of the race that matters; but rather how faithfully you give it your all in between.
Thank you, Rex Humbard, for being faithful to The Calling...and for giving it your all.

I will never forget something Rex said in one of his sermons on television in 1976. He said, "You might get what you want but you might not want what you get." He was referring to asking for the wrong things in life. I have never forgotten his words and they reflect on my life to this day 36 years later.

I remember my mother listening to Rex Humbard as I was growing up. She passed away 1981. I wrote to Mr. Rex Humbard and told him what my twin sister and I were facing. We were only 16years old. He replied with a letter so touching and prayers. May God bless the family. He truly was a man of God. May God bless.

I have just now come across this "Guest Book." We flew in for Rex's funeral in Akron back then. We have been good friends of the Humbards since 1974. Our fondest memories, were when they all moved to California. We would visit their homes, Jr.'s and Rex's up in Pacific Grove, several times. They would come and visit our home up in Lake Arrowhead. We adored them. Maude Aimee loved my husband Jack, so much. I can still hear her calling out to him, in her special and unique tone. I loved her her spunk, her wit. Witnessing her and Rex in conversation...was soo much fun. Memories of flying in their private jet to NYC. Rex introducing us, the Stemples, and his staff that was present, to the entire Madison Square Gardens in 1979. Johnny and June Cash were the guest singers. Maude Aimee loved and showed off a lot, the huge brass bed the Cashes gave her. Jack flew with them to Chili, to Rio. Those were grand days. We all (former staff) have remained close throughout the years. All of us deeply connected to the Ministry of The Humbards. They were the sweetest people and family we ever knew. Sooo many memories.
Maude Aimee keeping a Christmas tree up all year long. She had her private bathroom on their plane done in all mirrors, light switches, drawers and counters, and walls. It was so Maude Aimee, and I loved it. They had just moved into their Florida home, and boxes were open everywhere. It was so funny, Maude Aimee's phone rang, and we all went nuts, trying to find the phone for her, as it was buried. Wrapping paper was flying everywhere as we all scrambled to find it. I have many funny memories with them.
Rex's words and phrases, I have quoted all my life to my children, as I raised them, and now to my granddaughters. Rex will always live on. Maude Aimee, we love you sooo much. You are kept under His wing. God Bless all the Humbards. They know we love them all. I still use often....You Are Loved !! Rex's "branding" logo !!! So Rex and Maude Aimee....."You Are Loved." The best part of our lives...were when we were with you.

I attended the Katherine Kulman rally in Akron.Ohio where the Humbards sang
along with Katherine. Then when Rex
opened his church on State Rd. I became a member and was batized there. I sang in the choir and even had Rex as
my Sunday school teacher (he taught the
senior high kids.) I went on to attend
the Catheral of Tomorrow for many years before we moved to Georgia where
my husband attended Emory U. I always
will remember how sincere Rex's sermons were and how we enjoyed their
singing and all the groups that sang there. Now I can see those people on
Gaither Homecoming and it is so nostagic. Thanks to Rex, Maude Aimee,
Wayne and Leonna for bringing me to Jesus.

My memories of Pastor Humbard include playing volleyball in the gym on Mackinaw Island, as well as listening to his music and that of his quartet. I always enjoyed the messages he brought when he would come to the college. I grew greatly, as a child of God under his ministry, and thank God for allowing me to attend his college on the Island. My love and prayers are with all of you as you continue to minister in your own venues. God Bless as we await our turn to see Pastor Rex once again.

The Humbard family was such a blessing to my family for so many years. My Mother and Father hardly ever missed a chance to see them on t.v. Today I still grieve for missing Rex Humbard and also his family. Our youngest daughter is named after Elizabeth. We traveled from Maine to meet Elizabeth in the cafeteria and we decided our daughter's name would be Elizabeth. Rex was a pioneer and a great soul winner along with Maude Aimee. We will see you soon in the portals of glory.

My wife and I married June 7, 1947 and began attending the First Assembly of God Church in Terre Haute, IN shortly thereafter. In the late 1940's,if I remember correctly, the Humbard family had a tent revival on E.Wabash Ave. east of 25th Street. My wife and many of our friends attended the services there. We heard his father preach also at that time. We later moved to Indpls., IN. in 1961 and I can remember so well how we looked forward each Sun. morning before our church services to listening to the Humbard T.V. program. It was inspirational and we enjoyed the wonderful singing and the ministry of Rex and possibly others of his family. We loved his wife's singing as well as his beautiful daughter's.

My name is Peter Gardner from Brampton Ontario Canada. I was seven years old when Rex Humbard came for the dedication service of my church Kennedy Road Tabernacle in 1975. He brought a television crew with him and broadcast that service on the C-O-T. He also brought a singing group with him called "The Courriours". There were 3000 people that showed up that night, Rex preached an awesome sermon and the power of God filled the place. He inspired me to follow the calling the Lord has placed on my life and I am in the process of completing that training.
Thank You Mr.Humbard for being obedient to your calling, and for never giving up, even when storms came and it looked like the enemy had won, you still stood with faith and prooved God faithfulness, and the Lord blessed that. God bless all your family.

To the Rex Humbard Family:
Rex and Maude Aimee Humbard was a great inspiration to our family
in Stow, Ohio. Rex Jr. came to our
house to visit with us and offer us
an invitation to the Cathedral of Tomorrow.
That was in 1962. I was 2 years old when my mom first took me to church there. And, it was my church till Rex sold it to Reverend Angley's Ministries. The Church, Rex had Reverend Angley promise not to sell to comercial means. It had to remain as a church. Rex visited the
Cathedral of tomorrow in 1993, and I attended the service. It was great to have the chance to talk with him.
But most of all is what Rex said in that service that day.
He stretched forth his hand and said:
"Many of you are have the calling to go out and minister God's word". He was referring to me and other inspired members to preach the gospel with Rex's ordination that Day.
It was not until 2001 did I become an ordained minister and took Rex's salvation message to parts of California and Arizona, reaching hundreds of souls. I grew up in Rex's church since i was 2 years old.
It was an honor to get to talk to all the family members at Rex's funeral.
I wanted so badly to talk to Rex and tell him the wonderful story of the fullfillment of his words that day.
He would be so proud. My brother,
Will Albrecht, Sr. was a member of the Cathedral of Tomorrow, and now has a Jesus Loves You World Outreach Ministries, Inc.
I am sure that many countless other members of the Cathedral of Tomorrow has churches now.
Thankyou, Rex and Maude Aimee for your wonderful devotion to Jesus'
message.
You will be dearly missed.

I was so sorry to read of Rex Humbard's death but he was ready to go home to his eternal home at his age. He was one great minister. My prayers are with Maude Aimee and her children as they mourn the loss of a wonderful man. God be with you all in your time of sorrow.

TODAY IS 2/22/2008 AND I AM 23 YEARS OLD. WHEN I WAS YOUNG GIRL I NOTICED THAT MY MOTHER ALWAYS HAD THIS HUGE BIBLE THAT SAID "YOU ARE LOVED". BUT I NEVER LOOKED INTO IT. I AM FACING SOME HARD TIMES IN MARRIAGE RIGHT NOW, AND HAVEN'T BEEN LEANING ON THE LORD FOR SUPPORT AS I SHOULD. ABOUT A MONTH AGO MY MOTHER GAVE ME THAT BIBLE AND SAID THAT IT WOULD HELP ME DEAL WITH MY ISSUES THE WAY GOD WOULD BEST SEE FIT. AFTER READING THE MESSAGES IN THE FRONT ABOUT FAMILY AND MARRIAGE, I BEGAN TO THINK, WHAT A BLESSED AND RIGHTEOUS MAN REX HUMBARD IS. I ENJOYED READING ABOUT HIS FAMILY AND ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS THEY HAVE DONE FOR THE WORK OF CHRIST. THAT BIBLE HAS HELPED ME MORE THAN WORDS CAN EXPRESS. I DECIDED TO LOOK UP MR. HUMBARD ON THE INTERNET TODAY AND LEARNED HE DIED LAST YEAR. I WAS SADDEDNED AND MY SYMPATHY AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS SEPTEMBER WAS JUST MONTHS AGO. REX HUMBARD WILL NEVER KNOW THE DIFFERENCE HE MADE IN MY LIFE AS I HAVE DECIDED TO REDEDICATE MY LIFE TO CHRIST. BUT I WANT TO SHARE THIS TESTIMONY WITH EVERYONE AND I AM GRATEFUL TO THE LIFE OF REX HUMBARD. HE WAS A GOD-FEARING, AND LOVING MAN WHO TOUCHED MILLIONS OF LIVES AND WILL BE GREATLY REWARDED IN HEAVEN. GOD BLESS YOU ALL

Today is Jan 5, 2008 and on waking up this morning, the Lord brought back to my mind the time in 1981 when I was watching Rex on TV and was brought to my knees by my TV after rebelling for 52 years, asking the Lord to forgive me for my rebellion and save me. I don't recall the particular message Rex gave that day, but it was so powerful that even to this day some 27 years later, I thank God that he put Rex Humbard there at just the right time to bring this sinner home to the Lord.

We give our sympathy and condolences to Rex Humbards family. I always admired Rex Humbard being the preacher that he was.
Rex Humbard TV Pastor gave some good sermons during his time of doing all his religious service and, meeting Gods needs with his callings.
I always so very much enjoyed tuning into his televison show to listen to him preach. I can see why a ledgend such as Elvis Presley liked Rex Humbard so much as he did.
Elvis is a Ledgend for his beautiful music with having such a beautiful voice given to him from God to share with others.
Rex is a ledgend for his wonderful preaching and sermons and being a man of God who enjoyed so much sharing the words of the bible with everyone. He was a blessing to be here to share Gods word with everyone. He is missed. He lives again; in heaven. A wonderful place. "Amen and Amen Always.
Sincerely,

Rex became our TV pastor during a difficult time in our home church. We watched every Sunday and attended the Cathedral whenever we could. I was baptized there and my mother promoted the TV rallies in our area (Greensburg PA). Rex "coached" me into the ministry and I am forever grateful for his faithfulness in God's work. Your family is in our prayers as you have experienced your loss. This great man of God has received his reward.

My sympathies for the friends and family of Mr. Humbard. My husband's Grandmother worked for Mr. Humbard in the kitchen cutting up chicken years ago and always spoke fondly of Mr. Humbard. How wonderful it will be to see all of our dead loved ones again right here on the earth as Jesus promised at John 5:28&29. As our Lord taught us to pray, 'Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.' What a beautiful promise.

Rex and family meant so much to me for so many years. This past week while driving to work, I've been listening to a cassette tape I recorded during a visit to the COT on Anniversary Sunday, 1981 (both morning and evening services.) Maude Aimee sang "Gone" and "It is No Secret"; Liz sang "He's Ever Interceding" and "Picking up the Pieces"; Charlie premiered two songs he wrote: "Almost to Glory" and "Sweet Jesus Come". The kids sang, "Royal Telephone"; the whole family sang "I am a Promise" and "The Greatest Thing"; and the AM service started off with a beautiful medley that included "Alleluia", "God is So Good", "Something Beautiful", "Let's Just Praise the Lord", and finally "Get All Excited". Rex also sang an old favorite, "The Church in the Wildwood" and instructed anyone who remembered it from "years ago" to wave at him! Finally, the choir sings a great rendition of "Revive Us Again". It just sends chills down my spine to listen to it after all these years. I play it over and over again. I loved them.

I met him once as a child when our school attended a classical music concert at the Cathedral of Tomorrow. He was very freindly to all the kids. One time in 1972 when I was in the service in S Korea, I turned on the Korean TV and there was Rev Rex. The Koreans were very impressed that I had met him and that he was from my hometown. Its true, he had admirers all over the world. Now he can enjoy the promised land he has been telling us about for so long. My condolances to the family.

Dear Humbard Family,
I have so many fond childhood memories that stem from being in the presence of your warm and loving family. My mother Paralee Simpson Roberts always held a special place in her heart for your parents Rex and Maude Aimee. She respected and loved them both dearly and we always considered youall as part of our family. I am Juaniki Roberts Parker, her third child. I've lived in California for many years ans will never forget the time during on of my mom's visits here, your parents sent for her to spend time with them here at their home on the coast. I will always remember how kind every member of your family was to us during our childhood. You always treated Paralee with love and respect as a family member and she never felt like "the cook" For this, I will always be grateful. I'm sure that mom is baking up some of those wonderful rolls and chocolate pie that Rev. Humbard loved so much just for his homecoming! My prayers are with you and Maude Aimee. God Bless. To my dear Humbard Family,
The Payne family thanks God that in 1954 Rex,Maude Aimee,Wayne and Leona made the trip from Akron 5 nites a week to Cleveland TV station and put on a program at 6 pm that we started to watch at suppertime. One nite I said "Some Sunday I'm going to go up there to Church" Next Sunday mom woke me up and said this is that Sunday. I was 20 years old and unchurched but my younger brother and I went to Calvary Temple and our lives were changed forever. We were welcomed into youngpeoples class and soon Mom, Dad,Chuck and I were all saved and members of Calvary Temple.
With Rex's leadership we grew and worked in the Church from Bus Captains, Sundy School teachers Chior members etc.
Rex married Pauline Cawthron and I in 1966 at the Cathedral of Tommrow, Danny Koker played the organ, Glen Payne sang,Carla Payne was our flower girl. Jim Staufer and Vic Clay were in the wedding party.
Rex dedicated and later baptized Kim and Andy.
Rex was our Pastor and Friend.
Rex preached our infant son Randy's funeral and M.A. sang "Sheltersd in the arms of God" and Danny played the organ again,Thank you all so much.
In 1976 we moved back to Tennessee and had the opportunity to attend some raleys and get to see our friends. We have been active in Churches but none compares to COT and our Pastor,Rex.
Thank you Rex and Rex Jr. for comming to Nashville to marry our daughter Kimberly and Lee Greenwood, and what a wedding it was.
The last time we saw Rex and M.A. was at Rex's 80 th birthday and that was a grand party but nothing like the party we will have when we all gather again around God's throne. My Dad Lindsey,is already there and Mom Jennie Ann is 93 an soon will join Dad and Rex one day.
Pauline and I are active at First Baptist Church, Mount JUliet TN.
Both KImberly and Andy their spouses and children are active in their Churches and it is all because Rex was faithful to God"s call.
We are so sory we could not make the trip to Akron for the Homegoing but health problems made it impossible.
Till we meet again, Love Jim Payne

Rex had fought the good fight! Now he is enjoying the fruits of his sacrifice, and labors.
I have many wonderful memories of The Humbards, and The Cathedral of Tomorrow. I was a year, and a half when we began attending the church. My sister Robin, and I sang in the children’s, and adult choirs. We sang with, and without our puppets in the services, and Sunday school classes. To this day we both continue to lead congregations into worship in our individual churches.
My parents Carroll, and June Holt taught 5th grade Sunday school for many years. There are so many wonderful memories from my years at the Cathedral. Ridgecrest, VBS, camp, rollar skating, music festivals, Christmas caroling, Mackinac Island, New Years Eve, Christmas, and Easter productions. Memories made possible because one man followed the call of God. The Sunday Earnest Angeley was given the keys to the church I sang the song “By My Spirit” for the service. That day will remain etched in my memory forever.
My husband Brian, and I have two sons, Jonathan (6), and Joshua (4). We attend Grace Brethren Church in Wooster Ohio. www.woostergrace.org. Our pastor reminds me so much of Rex in his younger days.
My prayers go out for Maude Aimee Humbard. I will always see her as the feisty strong woman that she always was. I can remember her yelling at my dad for fixing her car after church while still wearing his suit.
God Bless the Humbard family for being humbled, and allowing Rex to follow the calling. Many generations to come will still find the Lord because of your ministry!
Feel free to contact me.

I have fond memories as a young child in the 50's of going with my Aunt and Uncle to see Rex preach on Copley Rd and Cathedral of Tomorrow. I recall the dedication of the Cathedral of Tomorrow and was so enchanted by the beautiful colors of the Giant Cross on the Ceiling of the new cathedral and what it came to mean to me. I loved the music of Maude Aimee and the Weatherford Quartet. I recall New Years Eve serices at the Cathedral of Tomorrow and the music of Stuart Hamlin and Mahalia Jackson. The message that Rex conveyed of God's Love for me has sustained my faith as an adult. My Prayers are with the family. God Bless you. Praise God for Rex Humbard.

My husband and I were married at the Cathedral of Tommorow and we both accepted Christ as our savior at the Cathedral of Tommorow, we also was baptized there along with our children (3 daughters.) My husband also was employed by the Cathedral of Tommorow. We were blessed many times over by attending the Cathedral of Tommorrow and by knowing Rex Humbard. He is truly missed by our family. Our prayers go out to his family.

I grew up watching Rex and family on tv..his music and ministry will always hold special memories for me. One of my favorite songs from the broadcast was "It Is Finished". For Rex, it is finished, he has entered into the LORD's presence, where he will forever remain.

When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!!
Being raised at the Cathedral was great! Mom & Dad taught Sunday school- Me & my sister Dawn sang for many services- and have continued to minister through Music in our churches today!
Where would I be if my mom hadn't tuned into Rex on TV- what a Faithful servant of God Rex reached out to the unreachable. Thank You to the entire Family and all those who were involved in Ministry.
I will never forget all the friends I grew up with at church- I miss all of you! We will all be together again in Heaven! What a Great Day that Will Be!!!

The Humbard family are in my heart and prayers. My husband was very ill for 16 years and he loved to watch your show on Sunday mornings. I would go to my church and then come home and we would watch together. We especially like watching the children and your daughter sing. He will be greatly missed.

When my grandmother had a massive stroke & was hospitalized in July 1976, I made sure she was able to hear Rex's televised service every Sunday morning until she passed away a month later. I know he was a great comfort to her.

My father (Harold Bell) is not able to travel, but our hearts are with the Humbard family today. My father, mother and I had many good times at the COT. My mother died in 2003 (Clara Bell)and I know Pastor Rex is in heaven with her. We gave our hearts to Jesus Christ in 1972 at the COT. May God grant the Humbard family comfort during this time.

I am saddened to learn of pastor Humbards passing. I grew up watching and listening to him on tv. My mom always had us watch him if we couldn't make it to our regular church. May God wrap His loving arms around the Humbard family and comfort them as well as help them through their grief.

I praise God for a man of "Truth." Pastor Humbard lived the life he taught others to live. A bold, Godly Warrior has laid down his Sown and Shield and is now resting. It is my prayer that God will give the Humbard family peace.

I just noticed a great man of God, went on home to be with his Father. I am so sadden to hear of this news, but I think I can speak for all we know he's home.
I am 52, and ever since I was a little girl, my Daddy sat me next to him and watched Rex on TV. My first bible my Daddy brought me was from Rev. Humbard's ministry. So I feel like a dear friend has moved on. I will always be grateful in being raised with the truth being peached to me through tv. with the great men of the cloth (as Daddy always said) such Pastors as Billy Graham, Rex Humbard, and Oral Roberts.
It is a warm feeling to know that I am sure as Rex met his family, my Dad was at the gate to welcome him home as well.
Thank you Rev. Humbard for being my teacher, and peacher since I was a little girl.
I am praying for your family, until we all meet again.
Deepest sympathy and prayers, Your sister in Christ, May the Spirit bring you his Grace and Comfort.

Rex was a wonderful man of God. What he accomplished in his ministry at the Cathedral is beyond our comprehension. But, God surely knows. The Cathedral Quartet impact on people can't be measured. God Bless You Rex.
Enjoy your heavenly home. You certainly deserve it.
