The Petersons will forever be a part of my life, I moved to Goleta and became employed with the company 6 months later, unfortunately had to leave because of a family illness in another state. Very grateful for chance and opportunity to be part of their legacy in Santa Barbara.

For Herb...
Thanks for the 'egg-mc-muffin.'
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

Started working at our McDonald's shortly after McMuffins came to be. Put myself through college that way. Sold a lot of them, and still enjoy them myself. May God's peace give you all comfort in the coming days.

I have always enjoyed the Egg McMuffin sandwich that McDonalds serves. It is a good alternative to bacon or sausage breakfast items. I know you will miss Mr. Herb Peterson. May God bring comfort to you in this time of sorrow.

One of the first "healthier" choices McDonald's had to offer - without even trying. Thanks for that, too, Mr. Peterson. By the photo, he looks like a decent guy - someone to admire. My condolences to the family.

Thank you for your contribution to one of today's breakfast icons. Egg McMuffins were the only thing I could eat for breakfast when I experienced morning sickness. They got me through!

A Reminiscence
YES, thou art gone! and never more
Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;
But I may pass the old church door,
And pace the floor that covers thee.
May stand upon the cold, damp stone,
And think that, frozen, lies below
The lightest heart that I have known,
The kindest I shall ever know.
Yet, though I cannot see thee more,
'Tis still a comfort to have seen;
And though thy transient life is o'er,
'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;
To think a soul so near divine,
Within a form so angel fair,
United to a heart like thine,
Has gladdened once our humble sphere.

I'll never forget the summer of 1972. I was 14 and and my family summer vacation was a two week car trip thru Florida. My Mother loved the "new" Egg McMuffin so much we ate breakfast at McDonald's every day. Back then there was no hash browns, so we had fries with it. To this day it is still her favorite breakfast sandwich, and she prefers fries with it, not hash browns.
