I can still remember when I saw this tragedy on the news. It was horrifying to know that such devastation hit so close to home.

As I lost my husband Sept.12th,2002, I share this date of grief with all of you! My heart breaks so hard for you!! Just get through the next minute, hour, and day! It is all that can be asked of those left to grieve and come to terms of such an event. I always will remember that Sept. 11th is the day we remember our fallen heros. I have always thought that God saw we had too much hurt on that day and the rest he saved for a special day, They will be honored in our hearst forever! I will just think of all of those that are hurting. I will keep you close in my heart! I know what that sudden loss is like first hand. Please know those of you read this that you are NOT alone! There are so many that feel that way too. Please, tell your story! tell it to all that will listen! It really does help as you never know how much that other person may find strength through you! I hope you remember that you just have to get through the next minute and then the next! My heart to all of you!!

In a time such as this, words can not begin to express our deep sadness and heartbreak at the loss you have experienced. The pain you feel is shared by many as Chuck generously impacted numerous lives and souls on every path he took. Through his warmth, his intelligence, and his ability to teach he gave a gift to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Andrea, you have amazed us with your spirit, your strength and your courage. Your ability to take this man and make him a better, happier person is so admirable; you are an angel walking among us. During this time of great sadness please accept our condolences at the loss of your wonderful partner, fiancé, and friend.

Chuck, over the past few days I have reflected on the great man I saw you to be and how the stories and memories of you steadily capture my attention. I will forever cherish the many hours we spent together, talking, listening, and laughing; you always seemed to be the center of attention.

From the simplest issues such as you hiring on with the airline industry and how it could be handled easier and run much more efficiently or the crazy nicknames you gave to all the part-timers, to where and how you grew up, and most recently the new life you had found with a wonderful angel you called Andrea; I never grew tired of the time I was able to share with you.

For me, the most heartwarming stories were those of your children. When you spoke of them your eyes would light up and the love you felt for them was undeniable. I would often tease you about how you yourself were much like a child and that the energy you had would not only serve to keep up with them, but run circles around them.

Chuck, the last time we spoke you were aglow with the prospect of the job opportunity that ahead of you in California, you told me how this was your “dream job.” You were so enthusiastic, this is the Chuck I will forever remember and hold dear in my heart.

Chuck, the last memory I would like to share is that of a joke between us. I use to always tease you about how light you were, how I was going to have to tie you down during our windstorms to prevent you from blowing away. Now I will tie down the memories but you are free to blow in the wind and watch over all of those who care so much for you.

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To every family member, friend, co-worker, or neighbor of those that perished in this tragic accident, eloquent words seem to flow easily from those of us who may not have known the victims. My wish, my prayer is that each life left a mark on others that will remind them life is precious, but sometimes fleeting, and we must live each day as if it is our last. Love the Lord, love your family and friends, and yes love your enemies with as much Godly love as you can contain in your heart. There may never be a good answer to times like this, but know that we all have a purpose for being here and we all have an appointed time to leave. In between those times seek a real relationship with our Father in heaven and Jesus Christ our elder brother. When nothing makes sense Christ will supply the strength you need to go on. For those we have lost, may heaven be their reward.
