I don't know where to start but I felt completely disappointed to know that he passed away as currently I am watching The Wonders Years as I have seen his Ad on TV so Today I'd watched "Goodbye" episode so when kevin went to Faculty Lounge and when he heard through Mr. Bernan that Mr. Collins passed away this morning due to heart ailment I too completely shocked to accept this I mean he was such a wonderful Maths teacher for the kevin and His last line when kevin asked I think we were friends He said No Mr. Arnold, Your Teacher. And after when the episode is about to finish I too about to cry I felt really bad the song behind is emotional and kevin pay his last homage to Mr. Collins by saying Good Job Mr. Collins its wonderful after that I searched him on internet and really unbelievable for me that he died on january 2009 due to cancer he was such a wonderful actor and educator and Sir How he urges kevins interest in maths and they worked hard it was facinating. And the narrator lines "I thought about a lot of things about how I knew him and yet I didnt about how he treated me like a men and I acted like a child"
At last, I haven't seen his movies except in The Wonder Years but he was a great actor and its obvious because he was a legend and always be a legend I wanted to see him more in The Wonder Years but what to say and I know I am very late to write this but these are what I felt about him.
Rest in Peace Mr. Collins(steve gilborn) and ellens father.
"Teachers never die they live in our memories forever" as narrator said.

I recently saw the rerun of your Dad's final appearance as Mr. Colins on The Wonder Years. What a brilliant performance! I cried as much the second time as when I saw it back in the '90s. I looked up your Dad on imdb and discovered he passed away 2 years ago. I'm deeply sorry for your loss.

Steve was my neighbor for a few years, I wanted to get better accointed with him, but then I learned of his death. Each year we have a telent show, and he was always in the show with us, he was like a host and he was wonderful. 1 day he came in the Post Office when I was there and he had my name wrong, he asked me if my name is Bill, but I corrected him and tolhom my name is Jim. We talked for a short time and then he got going, and so did I.

Dear Karen and family of Mr. Gilborn,
I was so sad and shocked to learn of this great actor's death when I saw his picture included as part of the In the Memoriam on last evening's SAG Awards.
Long a fan, I met him when on 9/10/11 Karen, your talent was showcased at the Corcoran in a program that included that of Terry Evans, long a friend of my husband's.
I was sitting there at the end of the evening and quite accidentally he sat down next to me. I looked around to see why others were not reacting to "Mr. Collins" being right here at the Corcoran. I took a deep breath and apologized in advance if this were intrusive or if he was tired of hearing of the effect of his most powerful and extraordinary performances in that role. He could not have been more gracious and we had the most wonderful discussoin about your work, great teachers we had respectively had so many years ago, and the challenge of finding such roles.
I was privileged to have that discussion with him, not the least bit surprised at his devotion to you his family and the enormous pride he had in each of you.
And so although he died more than a year ago, it is for me very raw. I extend my deepest sympathies to you his family and cannot imagine what a void his death has created.

Hi Laelia and Marya,
I just read about your Dad online. Having lost my folks my heart truly goes out to all of you. I'll always remember the day your folks shared a spot with Jan and I on the hill looking over Jr. Dock Bay and we had lunch together. Being new to ADK they really demonstrated a warmth that welcomed us to the community. My love and sympathy to you both and to your Mother as well.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Memories of happy time and the love of family and friends will encourage you in the days and months ahead. May the scriptures comfort you and give you hope and strength. Psalm 34:18 - "God is near to those that are broken-hearted; and to those that are crushed in spirit he saves. You are in my prayers.
