Lupoe Family Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 27, 2009.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man fatally shot his wife, five young children and himself Tuesday after he faxed a note to a TV station claiming the couple had just been fired from their hospital jobs and together planned the killings as an escape for the whole family.

"Why leave our children in someone else's hands," Ervin Lupoe wrote in a letter posted late Tuesday on the KABC-TV Web site.

The station called police after receiving the fax, and a police dispatch center also received a call from a man who stated, "I just returned home and my whole family's been shot."

Officers rushed to the home in Wilmington, a small community between the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, about 8:30 a.m., apparently within minutes of the killings.

Ana Lupoe was found in an upstairs bedroom the couple's twin 2-year-old boys Benjamin and Christian. Eight-year-old Brittney and twin 5-year-old girls Jaszmin and Jassely were found alongside Ervin Lupoe in another bedroom.

Although the fax asserted that Ana Lupoe helped in planning the killings of the whole family, police Lt. John Romero said Ervin Lupoe was the suspect. A revolver was found next to his body.

It was the fifth mass death of a Southern California family by murder or suicide in a year. Police urged those facing tough economic times to get help rather than resort to violence.

"Today our worst fear was realized," said Deputy Chief Kenneth Garner. "It's just not a solution. There's just so many ways you find alternatives to doing something so horrific and drastic as this."

When I read the article about this family I felt compelled to send out my deepest sympathies. May God be with you and yours. There are truly no words to express how I feel right now so I'll leave you with a simple yet common saying; Look to the Lord Jesus Christ for you strength, He'll never leave you.
So many people are praying for you and I believe that prayer reaches where it is intended.
May God Bless and strengthen the remaining family members.

For I know the thoughts that I think towards you saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil and to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11.

God we pray that you will comfort the loved ones that are left behind to carry this burden due to ecomonic times. That you will hold the families, teachers, peers, and co-workers close and let them know that trouble don't last always. May the family sleep in you until the Rapture, inwhich we shall meet you in the air, to study pain, heartache, and lack no more. Until then Grace and Peace.

To the Lupoe Family ~ Please accept my deepest sympathy. I cannot imagine the pain the Lupoe Familiy must be feeling now. However, our Heavenly Father, Jehovah, knows our pain and is near to those broken at heart. He gives comfort and the power beyond what is normal when facing such difficult times (2 Corinthians 1: 3,4 and 2 Corinthians 4: 7). We have the promise from the Almighthy, through His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, that soon we can see our dear loved ones again...but on a paradise earth when there is no more violence, financial calamity, sickness or even death (John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21: 3,4). My heart goes out to the Lupoe Family.

Sincerely,

Deborah Jones Bush

Death, be not proud

Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's comforting to realize that God never forgets those who have died. Rather, he views each human as individually important and special.(Isaiah 40:28) The scriptures speak of a time when we will be able to see our loved ones again. At John 5:28,29 this is promised. My prayers are with your family at this time. May the God of comfort grant you peace.

January 31, 2009

Family,

My heart just goes out to you all. May these words give you a measure of comfort, in the days and weeks ahead.

Help From God

The Bible assures us: “God is near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.”

Throw your burden upon God himself, and he himself will sustain you. If talking out your feelings with a sympathetic friend can help, how much more will pouring out your heart to “the God of all comfort” help you!—2 Corinthians 1:3.

God can give “power beyond what is normal” to go from one day to the next.

May the comforting thought from the Bible book of Revelation, the 21st chapter, verse 4 be of comfort to you. It reads: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” May Our Heavenly Father give you the strength you need to cope with your loss and to make it through these difficult days. I offer my sincere condolences to you all.

I'm finding it particularly hard to deal with these deaths since I actually knew the family and saw at least 2 of the kids, if not the entire family on almost a daily basis. It wasn't too long ago that all 5 of the kids were at my house for a birthday party.

I never knew what pain they were experiencing and I don't sit in judgment of the tragedy that took place. I can however attest to the true love and bond both parents had with all 5 of their children.

My deepest condolences to the family and to everyone who knew them and will feel the loss of their presence.
