You will never be forgotten, even 20 years later I can see the horrific event in my minds eye. It brings tears to my eyes, and I can only imagine how much it effects the families and friends. I was able to visit the cemetery a couple times where the crosses and photos were placed shortly after the tragedy.
My prayers are with the families and friends.

Cassie Bernall inspired me to write the following song:

The Lord challenges us to walk in faith
He loves to watch us grow
To see us spread out his love in this world
And to meet the one God that we know

To stand up for him when the world turns away
To be the lone voice in the crowd
To proclaim the joy of his dying for us
To praise him and his love right out loud

For her there was no other way to reply
When asked about what she believed
She knew it was better to praise God and die
Than to deny him and just be deceived

For she got to see the glorious world
where Jesus and his father live
Although her life was short, it was not lived in vain
For her story leaves something to give

She lived to be an example for us
Of what showing true faith would be
For as her story comes and touches us all,
It will always reside within me

So the next time you wonder about God
In anguish, frustration, or stress
Maybe you can find some comfort inside
Of the story of the girl who said "yes"

I would like to say that the 13 people are always remembered. They are in Heaven right now, in God's arms where he is taking care of them. I hope that when I meet God one day, I have the opportunity to meet the victims to tell them how sorry I am for their premature passings. I know that I will always remember them.

I heard about this through my psychology class, and I became interested. I grieve terribly for the losses that came from that day. I will never forget this day and the deaths that came from it. I hope this day will be remembered forever, because it was a national tragedy. My deepest regrets and condolences for the families who lost their sisters and brothers/daughters and sons that day.

I have done a Memorial to the children that were killed that day on my FB. Every day for 13 days and on the 20th I will do a tribute to all killed and injured and hurting in their hearts. It is always heavy on my heart. They are in God's arms and can never be hurt again. (Rhonda - Littleton)

I can remember the events of April 20th 1999 like it was just yesterday. I have never been to Colorado, Littleton, or ever have had the blessing of meeting any of the victims but I feel as if I know you all from all of the memories shared with us over the years from those who loved you. You would all be approaching your 30's now had you lived. You would undoubtedly have had children of your own by now. I know that what you never experienced on Earth is nothing compared to the joy you can have in Heaven. May I be lucky enough to get to meet up with you all, one day in Paradise. Rest in Peace knowing that you are not forgotten and that you left a legacy that will live forever.

Nature

As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I have lost a daughter so I know what the parents of these teenagers are feeling. Each year, it is difficult to go through that experience again on the anniversary day. But I also know that God's presence and comfort is always there when we need it.
