Dear Ross, I wonder if you ever look on the pages now. I was friends with Lucy, but we lost touch. I spoke with her in 2008 to tell her i was getting married. I'm devestated to hear she has died. She was such a good friend, i'm so sorry to have lost touch. The world has lost a wonderful women. Even though she was ill, herself, she still campaigned to help others. I feel blessed to know she was my friened and I'll never forget the day she fell backwards off my garden wall. We shouldn't have laughed, but we did. It still makes me giggle today. She was always there when needed. i'm so sorry she has gone. Lesley Szczyglowski from Ealing London xxx

Dear Mr.Ross Vodden,
I did not know Lucy but was deeply saddened to read of her passing. As a lifelong musician and devote' of the Beatles- I feel as though another flower from the garden of love their music gave us has been taken from us all. Seeing her picture-I can't image the "Lucy" in the song as having a more warm and beautiful smile. May God help you though your loss and ease your sorrow.
sincerely,

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

When the press announced Lucy was living with Lupus, my website filled up with others searching for answers to their own health.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Lucy Vodden. My Mother In Law died after suffering with Lupus for 11 years. Although it has been more than 20 years since she died, it never leaves you the memories of such a hard fought battle. It is a horrible disease that I had hoped and prayed would be cured by now. I am a huge Beatle fan, and always loved the song she inspired so many years ago. I loved the truth, that this was a little girl that inspired a drawing by a little boy, a school chum; not the drug reference that so many assume.
God Bless you and Lucy, who is surely in the sky with God now.

To the family of Lucy Vodden,
We were sorry to read of how Lupus took her life at such a young age.
Our sister died at the age of 35 because of Diabetes complications.
We are very sad that she is gone - Isaiah 33:24, but we know that we have a scriptural hope of seeing her again, alive and free from the pain and suffering she had to live with - Acts 24:15.
May you find comfort & strength to carry on during these somber days.

To the Family of Lucy Vodden,
I am so sorry for the death of some one who inspired the wonderful song-"Lucy in the sky with diamonds". What a great memory it brings me when I hear it.
This has to be a very hard time for the family so I wanted to share some encouraging thoughts from the Bible.
At Psalms 34:18-"God is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves."
May you find a bit of solace and confidence knowing that Lucy is in God's loving with the hope of having her life restored on a righteous, peaceful earth where death will be no more.(Revelation 21:4)
Psalms 37:29-"The righteous themselves...
I hope these scriptures bring the family a measure of peace.

Vodden family,
My sincere condolences on the death of your loved one. The song " Lucy int he Sky With Diamonds" was a favorite of mine and will always be remembered. We are so thankful that Lucy Vodden was "that girl" in the song. Is there hope for our dead loved ones? God promises that death will be eliminated and that he will remember our dead loved ones. His words in the scriptures at Isaiah 25:8 and Job 14:14,15 bring us comfort and give us hope.
