Irma Cevasco was the most significant guiding influence in my life. She taught me not to worry about possessions and that the best part of life is what you give to others.
Her loss will leave an empty spot in my soul until I die.

I am just seeing this almost 8 yrs from the passing of Miss Cevasco. Miss Cevasco was my homeroom teacher & my Algebra I & II teacher from 1971-1973 at Walter L. Cohen. Her care & concern for me, as all her students shall never be forgotten. She would show up at a student's door at their home, if they were not in school & tell them to get dressed & get to class! haha! She was an EXCELLENT teacher & an EXCEPTIONAL human being. I, as well as the student body of Walter L. Cohen Senior High School shall always remember and love her, & we express our deepest sympathy to the family of Miss Irma Cevaso.
May she R.I.P. With much love & appreciation. May God Bless.

To the family and friends,
Even though I did not know Irma personally, I feel compelled to share my feelings with you about the comfort that I received from the Bible when I lost my father, brother, and husband, in the hope that it may bring you some comfort, too.. Even I, a stranger, still feel sad about what has happened to ones lost in death due to natural disasters and other unforeseen events. I do not want to deepen your sorrow, but just to offer some comforting thoughts from a wise ancient lawyer, more famously known as the apostle Paul of the Holy writings, that helped me in my time of sorrow. He said to remember "the God of comfort" who comforts us in all our sorrow. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4.) This has been my source of peace and can be yours, too. God will comfort us. This has helped me and I hope this little seed of comfort will sprout for you. Just know that many people do care and have not forgotten. When things like this happen, all of our hearts are broken. We care, too.

I participated in the Hands Around the Dome Memorial where I was given Ms. Cevasco's name to read. It was a moving tribute. My family wish to express our condolensces to her family & friends. Our prayers are with you all. She will always be remembered by us.
