G.Michael Lala had just turmed seventy four on September 02, 2005.
He was one of the first cameraman for the city of New Orleans back in 1954 for WDSU TV. He received many awards for his talent. He received the award of the New Orleans Hall of Fame of Broadcasting back in 2001 and was so proud of that. He thanked his dear mother who was fortunate enought to attend the awards that day along with many dear friends. Michael Lala was the owner of the Olde Nawlins Cookery he started back in 1983. He was the owner of the property, formerly Massons Restaurant which he hoped to open Lala's of Lakeview Restaurant. Michael Lala was an animal lover. He created, for his legacy, The G. Michael Lala Foundation for Animals. This foundation will aid in the help of spaying and nuetuering of animals and education along with adoptions to help save the animals. His beloved little Sassy I believe started this affair for his love and concern for animals. He will and always be sadly missed my myself and Rufus, Ashley, Norman, Peter, Mary and Houilley.
