I met Mrs. Sapp at Word of Faith youth service. I am 17 years old now and she inspired me to live my life righteous. At the time I was sad inside. She personal talked with me. She is the reason why I am graduating from high school with a grade point average of 3.44. She shared her colon cancer condition with me. She looked so beautiful and did not look like she was sick. She said she wanted to open a special school. I wish I could carry that torch for her. Instead I will always carry Mrs MaLinda Sapp in my heart. I will never forget her whispering a song, "Here I am, " in my ear. I can hear her voice to this very day; especially when I get discouraged. I often catch myself saying telling her; Mrs. MaLinda thank you; we made it and here I am! "I never would have made it without you!"

September 9th, is a special date for me, it is my birthday and the day that god called your wife home. I spent my birthday crying all day and night, due to the news of Malinda's death. I was so emotional, tears of joy and pain. The homegoing of your wife made me thank god more for such a special day. I will forever share memories with you, family, and friends on that special day! I have been having issues and your testimony is only making me stronger...I am praying for strength and letting go and letting god have his way. I have been able to talk to my husband and kids about my illness, it hurts to have to think of the unthinkable, however you will never know how deeply your story has impacted my life. I am the Malinda of my household. thanks for touching my life and helping me to deal with my own situation. So amazing how our father can send situations from afar to assist with my walk in christ. Love you and thank god for you!

Crossing the Bar
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Pastor Sapp,
I lost my husband at age 39 on Feb 21, 2009. I have not been to a funeral since then. I watched First Lady Sapp's funeral online and I identified with the "numb" look on your face. When my husband passed, my pain was at such an altitude that my emotion couldn't reach. I can't discredit God. He never let the spirit of depression come over me. Whenever my heart gets heavy, I pray and God instantly removes that spirit. God loves you and will carry you through these times. When you are missing her most, He will sustain you. Pastor, I will continue praying for you and your family. Be Blessed Man of God!
