I just learned of my sweet Lisa's death. I am a former 6th and 7th grade friend. I of course just liked Lisa for every reason possible.. I remember she was the first one in our little group of friends that a 9th grade boy liked her. She was awsome and had a zest for doing it all. I am so very proud to have known you Lisa! You had the funniest giggle and made me feel special when I didn't feel like I was fitting in. I hope to see you on the other side. Won't forget you girl.

I just today discovered that you had passed. 3 years ago!!! I was stunned. Even though I didn't even know you, I was deeply saddened. Mostly because you were so young, but a lot because you were so loved...your mom, your husband. The void you were leaving was so palpable. Rest well, Lisa.

Officer and a Gentleman was a good movie. I am saddened to hear of the passing o Miss Blunt. This is a sad time for the family. When we lose a love one it is always very difficult. Our heavenly Father is loving and caring and will give the family the necessary strength to get through this. "And there will many asleep in the ground of dust and will wake up" Daniel 12:2

I recently met Lisa and we became friends in the last few weeks leading up to her untimely death. We recorded together in my studio and began songwriting together. She was a true professional but even more importantly a very open, humble and giving person. My prayers go out to her friends and family.
Sincerely,

I was in Rainbow Girls with Lisa and attended JHS with her. I remember her as a cheerleader. Mostly I remember how thrilled I was when I saw her in "An Officer and a Gentleman" and felt that she'd gotten her big break.

I was in my 20's when I worked on An Officer and a Gentleman. I still have the keepsakes from St. Regis Papermill. It is a paperbag inspected by Paula. I will forever remember the taste of sawdust in our food on windy days because the caterer was set on where we were eating. I remember the day, they had trouble setting lights in the breakroom set because the sprinklers would go off and finally settling on a couple of table lamps to create the light. I remember the long days on the ferry and getting sunburned
I have memories to last a life time. I along with SAG will miss you.

Lisa and I were friends for 30 years. If there is meaning to life; it must be in the profound connections with others; to find a friend with whom we are able to share or deepest sadness, our darkest secrets, our hidden fears, and sweetest joys. Lisa wasn’t just a great actress. She was a magnificent friend. She had an extraordinary capacity for joy. She was good and loving; generous and kind. Her very presence in our lives said, “You are loved.” Now that she is gone, I am bereft. I share this unfathomable anguish with her family and wish that I could comfort them. The only solace I can offer, that anyone can offer, is to remember Lisa; to hold her in our arms, in our memory, and to give thanks for her brief time on earth, when our lives were richer for her love.

The sad news of Lisa's passing is especially hard for me to receive, being that I grew up on the same street with her and her brother Greg. I still have fond memories of the three of us swimming in our backyard pool in that small Arkansas town. Glen, Louise and Greg my deepest sympathies are with you at this time. Lisa and I have been good friends for over 30 years. In fact, I was recently in Little Rock where we spent the day together. We were coincidentally both cast in a film years ago called "Dead and Buried" (me as the scared mom, she as the nurse.) I love her and am deeply saddened as another of our L.A. group has passed away... Thank you for remembering her.

I was sitting in a movie theater in 1982 or 83 in Colorado Springs Co. My girlfiend and I were seeing Officer and a Gentleman. Throughout the movie I kept asking my GF who is that actress ( Lisa)? I have seen her in other stuff bet cant remember. She replied , "Ive never seen her before".
When Lisa cried toward the end, I said out load in this movie theater...I know her! people around me were sushing me. We stayed for the credits and read Lisa Blount next to her character. Then I realized, back when I was almost 10 years younger I went to 7th and 8th grade with Lisa at Southside Jr high in Jacksonville Arkansas. Lisa looked really good in her daisy dukes at Sadie Hawkins dance in the school gym. I moved away but after that movie tried to see Lisa in all her work. Ray, Walton, Lisa....Bless all of You.

Deeply sorry for the loss of such a beautiful and talented lady who died much to young. I know she will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In this difficult time I hope you all can draw comfort from the following thought found at Psalms 34:18-"God is near to those broken at heart..."
You can feel that Death can leave a heartache that nothing can heal, just know that Love can leave a memory that no one can steal.

In the movie An Officer and a Gentleman, Lisa was at her station and when she looked up and saw Paula and Zach together, she dropped her paper bags and went back a little bit while closing her eyes. and then she got the strength somehow to be happy for Paula. Way to Go Paula, Way to GO! she did that perfectly! What a loss! my prayers go out to her and her family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
