To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To Megan's Family,
A few months ago a friend of mine sent me the link to your daugher singing. I sat in the library in our small town and cried. We lost our daughter Jess 3 years ago on March 8th to leukemia after a 9 month battle. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Take each day, hour, minute, second at a time. You must be so very proud of Megan as we are of Jess. God Bless you all.

To Megan's Family - Several months ago my friend sent me the link of your daughter singing. I sat in a public library in our small town and cried. We lost our daughter Jess 3 years ago on March 8th to leukemia. She was 14 when she died. I feel your pain and your devastation. Please know our hearts are with you all as are our prayers. Take one day, hour, minute, second at a time. You must be so very proud of Megan as we are of Jess. God Bless.

To Megan's family, I am thinking of you. Even at the young age of seven when I first met her at her grandmother Carolyne's home, Megan had an old soul, a wisdom and maturity seldom seen in children this age.
She has gone to a place where there is no suffering and no pain. Megan will shine over you, watching over you, comforting you, protecting you...a brilliant star in the late night sky, forever brilliant just as the love you shared with her.
With love and affection,

I never met Megan personally, but I was deeply touched by her life story. May the McNeil family find comfort in the promise of the scriptures. Isaiah 33:23 says, "And no resident will say I am sick..." This is what helped me to cope with the loss of my uncle & grandmother to cancer.

I met Megan in highschool. We sat next to each other in Spanish, and sang together in Choir.
My favourite memory was eating an entire bucket of cookie dough ice cream together while waiting in betweeen concerts while on band/choir tour in Ucluelet.
She was such a happy and inspirational person, whose voice has now helped so many.
Megan, I love you and miss you dearly. But I know that you are free of pain and suffering, and looking down upon all of us.
I will never forget you.

I was fortunate to meet Megan once, when we shot a story together for Shaw TV in Nanaimo featuring her song, her story, and her will to survive. It was a very uplifting day, and I remember being on the edge of tears after she performed her song for the camera. She was one of those people who touch lives in a memorable and positive way. Best of wishes for Megan's family and their recovery.

I did not meet Megan personally; however, watched her on Shaw TV before Christmas. Loved her song, her courage and delightful personality that shone through on that episode. Not much worse in life than losing your Child! Thoughts are with Megan's parents and other family and friends at this sad time.

What a beautiful smile Megan had. The family and friends have my deapest symphaty. I too lost a child at a early age from cancer. I know what a difficult time it can be for those who are left behind. All we have is memories and what a gift from God that is. With out it our love ones would be lost to us. . God promises that one day we won't have to worry about things so evil as death. We all long for that time.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I became familiar with Megan through her involvement with the Ride2Survive and her song. She touched the lives of many strangers. I hope the happy memories of her are some day stronger than your current grief. Thinking of you, and wishing that so many families were not affected by this nasty disease.
