To the family of Rep. Bobby Franklin, I am truly sorry for loss and hope these words bring you comfort, " And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelations 21:4

I was greatly saddened upon hearing the news of our loss. Our loss, because Representative Franklin has been one of the finest individuals many have come to know. He never waivered in what he believed to be the best solution and gained the upmost of respect in most everything he did. Bobby was the kind of man our world needs the most: trustworthy, righteous and truly good from within. He was on loan to us for only a short while before being called back Home and will be missed greatly. We will be hardpressed to know of others living their lives through example as done in the likeness of Bobby Franklin.

I served in the GA. legislature (1992-2004) with Bobby from 1996 when he was first elected, through 2004 when I voluntarily retired. We were seat mates that entire time and he was a steadfast ally and friend to me.
But I knew him for several years before either of us were involved in politics at that level. I wish his family well and God's grace and consolation during this time.
When I think of Bobby, the first thing that comes to mind is his quick smile and a "Hi brother!!" whenever we saw each other. He made me feel like he really meant what that word implies.
Bobby and I held many things in common, and we would raise some considerable amount of trouble each day in the General Assembly, urging our fellows on to vote yes or no as we saw it.
Bobby was fun to be with and was a positive influence in my life. Since he was a believer in Jesus Christ and His resurrection, I'm sure Bobby is in good Hands now, free from the cares and burdens of life, so that gives us some amount of comfort for a friend lost.

I first met Bobby in 1994, when he became the controller for a physician recruiting firm in Duluth (taking my place). He was a man of principle, and was always very gracious to others. It was a pleasure to work beside him for the time that I did.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Rep. Franklin. Bobby was a good man. I met him when I was assigned to be his assistant in the House. He truly cared about the state and his constituents. He took his job very seriously. Over the years, I would not only consider him a work associate, I soon began to call him a friend. He was an interesting individual. May God bless and keep him always.

Bobby was a dedicated Christian, a consistent conservative, and a pro-life champion. He read EVERY bill, and if he didn't feel it passed Constitutiinal muster, he voted against it. Georgia's loss is Heaven's gain. May the LORD give his family strength and peace.

Bobby was the type of man you never see anymore - a man who stood up for what was right, when it would have been easier to just compromise. He was the type of politician you never see anymore - someone who would never waver from his principles or his beliefs just for votes. A great Georgian was lost today. May God bless his family whom he loved dearly.

Rep. Franklin was a man of the highest integrity. We need more like him in public service. My family will miss him, and contra some AJC articles, we knew what he did, who he was, what he stood for and we wanted him to represent us. He will be hard to replace, but it was his time to take his place around the table of the King. May his legacy be to move our state closer to submission to Jesus Christ as our Lord and His law as our standard of justice and righteousness.

Prayers for the Franklin family and heartfelt condolences. As 1st Vice Chair of the Cobb County Republican Party from 2009-2011, I could always rely on Bobby for background and follow through on some critical issues.
His presence was always taken into account, and his ideals and work ethic were never taken for granted.

Rep. Bobby Franklin was my friend. Someone I looked up to and admired. A person with deep convictions and the backbone to stick to them, not out of arrogance but with Christlike humility. Whether you agreed with his politics are not; all that knew him said he was personable, respectable, and true to his word. How many politicians can be described by using those words? Bobby, you will be missed.

I, too, served in the General Assembly with Bobby. While his views and tactics were often a little out there, he was a very nice person. He was always very good to me. God bless you, Bobby.

Deepest condolences to Bobby's family. I served in the legislature with Bobby back in the late 90's and early 2000's and found him to be a polite gentleman who was driven by a real sense of purpose. We didn't always agree, but we found ways to work together in instances where we did. I will always admire the fact that he was clearly not down at the Capitol for the perks of the position; politicians generally have a near gripping need for broad popularity and praise, but Bobby didn't operate the same as most. I wish the best for the family that he leaves behind.
