Enzo Hernandez Obituary
The 63-year-old played for the San Diego Padres between 1971-77 and finished his big league career with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1978.
He was found dead in his home in El Tigre in eastern Venezuela on Sunday. The Venezuelan sports newspaper Lider along with other news media in the country reported Hernandez had committed suicide. Police in the town confirmed Hernandez's death but declined to provide details about the cause.
Jose Grasso Vecchio , president of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, says on Twitter that Hernandez as well as former Venezuelan major leaguer Dave Concepcion "shined with their gloves."

I MET ENZO IN FLORIDA USA WHEN HE PLAYED WITH THE ASTROS FSL I IN 1967. I AM SO SORRY FOR HIS DEATH I HAD LOST TRACK OF HIM THROUOUT ALL THESE YEARS. Watched Enzo play at The Murph when I was a boy. Wearing # 11 hitting lead off! So sorry to hear he died alone. Hurt for his family. Trust all are leaning into His gracious, loving Peace.

my heart is heavy. I remember when alot of the young Padres would go down to Shelter Island in San Diego and picnic with the fans. Enzo and Jerry Morales were great back in the 70's ! Will always remember you Enzo. RPI .

i recall watching Enzo as a young kid and teenager when i visited my aunt in san diego along with randy jones,dave winfield,willie mccovey and all the padres of that era.may you rest in peace enzo.
