I had the good fortune of meeting Govenor Guy in the early 70's when my husband was stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base and I was the librarian at o e of the elementary schools on base. I believe the occasion was National Library Week. Both Govenor and Mrs. Guy were gracious and acknowledged that while we were not related, we certainly did have something in common. He was a very special man.

Having served as the Director of Outdoor Recreation for North Dakota from 1966-1972, It was a priviledge to have his mentoring and leadership. Being in his Cabinet at age 28, his oversight of public policy was far ahead of the elected leadership throughout the nation. As he led several committee's with the National Governor's Conference, North Dakota's prestique and reputation was equal the those with greater names such as Nelson Rockerfeller. I could not be more proud of serving under him. John Greenslit, Lansing, MI
