Jim Hill Obituary
Howard County Coroner John Gray says Hill died Wednesday morning at his home in Nashville after suffering from a lengthy illness.
Hill, a Democrat, served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1993 to 1996 and served as state Senate president for the 84th General Assembly.
Gov. Mike Beebe called Hill a friend, saying the senator's "dry wit" made friends and adversaries at the Capitol smile. Former U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, who's now running for governor, called Hill a patriot who "truly defined what public service should be about."
Hill sponsored a measure that led to the 1/8th cent sales tax that helps fund the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Our deep, heartfelt condolences to the Hill family. Although occasions such as the loss of a loved one can bring sadness, comfort can be ours if we draw close to God in prayer with the assurance that he will respond with the help we need to endure.
