Mike Strang Obituary
Strang was elected to Congress in 1984 from the Western Slope, where he served one term. After he was defeated by Democrat Ben Nighthorse Campbell, he returned to horse and cattle ranching and consulting on natural-resource issues.
Strang served in the Colorado Legislature in the early 1970s and raised eyebrows when he introduced a bill to legalize marijuana. It went nowhere, but it didn't harm his political ambitions. Colorado voters approved legalization last year.
Strang is survived by his wife, Kit; daughters Bridget and Laurie Strang Cunningham, and a son, Scott.

For God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love you showed for his name by ministering and continuing to minister to the holy ones (Hebrews 6:10). Mike Strang will never be forgotten for all the work done for the Colorado community and especially those encouraged and inspired in this wonderful persons' care. May God continue to strengthen your family in these “times hard to deal with” (2Tim 3:1), especially without a beloved one such as Mike Strang.
