Celtic Thunder rescued me from a major bout of depression after the untimely loss of my Mother and after the unexpected loss of several family members 3 yrs later. When I learned of George's passing, what followed was another fall down the Rabbit Hole..... from which Celtic Thunder again rescued me. I owe them, all of them, my very existence. I have all their cd's and dvd's and hope to attend a live concert some day. As deeply as I miss George, my sincerest condolences go to his wife and daughter, his fans, the Celtic Thunder production team, and of course, to his fellow Celtic Thunder musicians and voices.

Oh my stars...I can't believe I'm just finding this out now that such a marvelous voice is no more to be heard. I had watched a recent show of Celtic Thunder on PBS their 10 anniversary special; and, I was wondering why George Donaldson wasn't on the stage. His presence and voice was to me the corner stone to an amazing ensemble of talented singers. I will miss his story painting voice of songs. Rest amongst the angle voices.

I played Working Man over and over just to hear his voice and to learn the words.

I never met Mr. Donaldson but such was his charisma & character that he touched millions unmet. He seemed a decent man, a good man, and the tributes that colleagues and friends wrote surely support that in the two-way gift exchange of energy of a life well lived, albeit too short for both intimates and audiences. Celtic Thunder...what can a person say...I have a limited income, and the first time ever, I purchased both the "Entertainment" DVD and CD through our local PBS station. George had a stance about him that said.. "I'll take care of you. You are safe with me", and a voice to match. I was sharing some of their music with a friend on Facebook, and was shocked to see that he had passed on. It is like loosing a friend, and he will be greatly missed.
