I remember when Gough was invited by sister Freda to speak at my school in 1958. He was inspiring then and went on to do so much. Some of my class remembered the event 3 months ago at our 55yr reunion.

I have a memory of Mr Whitlam when I was a young girl of about 11. I stood next to him at a school assembly to speak about sports day at the school. It was intimidating and I lost the words. Mr Whitlam assisted me through that and saved my dignity. Thank you Mr Whitlam. My sincere sympathy to the Whitlam family. He was a great man and I cherish the memory.

Such an influential man, his legacy will not be soon forgotten. My condolences for your loss, death is always hard no matter when it comes in someone's life and such an unnatural separation from the ones we love. I hope the family can find comfort in their memories of him and in the companionship of eachother in this time of sorrow. Throw your burden on God and he will sustain you (Ps 55:22)

True today as it was then..RIP...
Gough Whitlam.
'The decision we will make for our country on 2 December is a choice between the past and the future, between the habits and fears of the past, and the demands and opportunities of the future. There are moments in history when the whole fate and future of nations can be decided by a single decision. For Australia, this is such a time. It's time for a new team, a new program, a new drive for equality of opportunities: it's time to create new opportunities for Australians, time for a new vision of what we can achieve in this generation for our nation and the region in which we live. It's time for a new government – a Labor Government.'
Gough Whitlam (1972 Policy Speech).
Thank you Gough.
