Orlando Thomas Obituary
Thomas was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease in 2004. He died on Sunday night in his hometown of Crowley, Louisiana. The death was confirmed by the Vikings, Mark Bartelstein, the former agent for Thomas, and Glenn Boullion, the director of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
Thomas was a hard-hitting starter for seven seasons for the Vikings, the last one coming in 2001. He led the NFL in interceptions with nine as a rookie in 1995. Bartelstein said he believes the disease was related to playing football.

One of these blessings is the hope of a resurrection as demonstrated by Abraham and Isaac. My heart is broken and I'm very deeply saddened by this. He was an amazing man friend uncle brother Father cousin son. This hit our hometown really hard. I Thank God that he is no longer suffering but he fought a good fight. God was with him every day and now he is with God. Tears. May God continue to strengthen and Bless his family.
