I remember Mr. Whitfield, My uncle used to smoke Marlboro cigarettes, Because of him I always wanted to be a cowboy. But more importantly after reading later in life about his love for country and the native Americans, the depth of the human spirit. I have developed a deep respect for all he worked hard for especially his love for his family. He was in every respect a "Real man." rest peacefully in the arms of the great spirit my friend.

For the Winfield Family & Friends: I enjoyed seeing him in all the commercials during his era. My boyfriend, during that time, smoked Marlboro cigarets and we would comment on it every time we saw the commercials of the 'Marlboro Man'. Your cherished memories of him will be treasured even more as time goes on. May the Lord bring you comfort during this most difficult time.

I'm sure God has a ranch in Heaven
A place for cowboys to call home
With dusty trails and deep passes
Where cows and horses freely roam
I picture you up on a ledge
Gazing at the draws below
Leaning forward with your Thirty X
Stetson hat pulled way down low
I can 'bout hear the leather creaking
When your gelding switches feet
Your spurs softly jingle in the wind
Your rope's tied on and coiled neat
There is contentment on your face
You're happy, but I can't pretend,
Though I'm glad you've made God's journey,
That I can truly comprehend
In my earthly ways I question
The reasons God took you away
I guess the timing was exactly right
To enter Heaven on that day
The only comfort I have found
That puts my grief to rest
Is that God only takes the top hands
Because His crew's the very best
We still cry and we sure miss you
And all the things that might have been
But God needed one more cowboy
And He felt you'd fit right in
So He sent down all His ranch hands
An extra horse stood at their side
Then he softly whispered to you
"Saddle up, my friend, let's ride"

A cowboy's prayer......
I've been a long time coming, Lord,
But now, I'm riding in.
I see those gates just shining,
Where no pain is felt within.
I heard the angels singing, Lord,
When they came to escort me.
They let me ride my favorite horse
On in to eternity.
I'm thankful for my days on earth,
And my friends & family there below.
They knew quite well my time had come,
But they grieved to see me go.
I ask that you give them comfort, Lord,
For I'm in a better place.
Please let them know that I rest in peace,
Thanks to your matchless grace.
Please let them know that I love them, Lord,
And all fear has been put aside.
I will wait for a grand reunion,
When they, too, cross the Great Divide.
To the family, friends and loved ones, "Please accept my deepest sympathy".

Try to recall happy memories of the times you shared with your loved one, perhaps by looking at photos. True, remembering those times might be painful at first. In time, though, these memories may help you to heal rather than cause you to hurt.mMy sincere condolence.
