Fitz was an inspiration and I remember how much my late husband Jason Fulton admired his grandfather. They are together now and that gives me peace. My thoughts are with his family now and always.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your loved one. May reflecting on the memories you have shared ease the heartache and pain you now feel; and may God's promise "to swallow up death forever" and "to wipe away the tears from all faces" bring you comfort, hope, and strengthen you during this difficult time.

I lived across the street from Fitz for 20 years. I was so dumb, I didn't even know he was famous. But what I did know was that he was the perfect example of what a Godly man should look and act like. Erma, my heart is breaking for you.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Col Fitzhugh Fulton back in 1984 when I was assigned as chief photographer for the Air Pulse newspaper at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. He has a Space Shuttle pilot, and his crew came to Offutt for a visit. He also came with fellow Space Shuttle teammate Rich Richards. I was an Airman First Class, and Col Fulton's team was very cordial and allowed me to take several photos of them for the Air Pulse. Col Fulton was a very nice man in person, a wonderful Air Force officer, and an awesome Space Shuttle pilot for NASA and the nation. My condolences to the Fulton Family. He was a great man.
