Tunisia Resort Assault Victims Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 29, 2015.
More than three dozen people—most of them tourists from Great Britain—were killed when at least one gunman attacked the beachfront Imperial Marhaba Hotel June 26 in Sousse, Tunisia.

The foreign tourists who died, according to the BBC, included Carly Lovett, who was a 24-year-old beauty blogger and photographer; Patrick Evans, Adrian Evans and Joel Richards, who were three members of the same family; vacationing couple Sue Davey and Scott Chalkley; Bruce Wilkinson, a retired worker from the Drax power station; Lisa Burbidge, a grandmother in her 60s; Claire Windass, 54, who was vacationing with her husband; Jim and Ann McQuire, a recently retired couple; Trudy Jones, a single mother of four who was vacationing with friends; Stuart Cullen, 52, whose wife was injured in the attack; and Stephen Mellor, who died while attempting to shield his wife, Cheryl.

The gunman, who hid a rifle inside a beach umbrella, was shot and killed about 30 minutes after the slaughter. According to witnesses, however, more than one person was involved in the assault.

British Prime Minister David Cameron vowed a "full spectrum" response Monday. British detectives have been sent to Tunisia to assist in the investigation.

The June 26 assault was reportedly the deadliest terrorist attack involving British citizens since July 7, 2005, when four suicide bombers killed 52 commuters in London.

To the family and friends of the Tunisia Resort tragedy,

Some say that time heals all wounds but not in the case where you lose a loved one to an attack such as this. May you continue to find comfort and peace from the many promises outlined in God's Word and a world where justice will prevail for one and all. Jeremiah 29:11. May you continue to heal.

My heart goes out to the families of those who perished in this rampage. I also am thinking of those who were witnesses of this horrendous event, what a nightmare. Please know you are in my prayers.
Psalms 72:14 assures us that Our Creator, Almighty God is aware of these crimes and that in his due time, he will take action, (2 Peter 3:8,9 ).
May His will be done on earth.
