Merv Adelson Obituary
Adelson died Tuesday of a stroke in a Los Angeles medical facility, said Ryan Rayston, a family friend and Adelson's executive assistant.
A former developer in Las Vegas, Adelson and partner Irwin Molasky formed Lorimar in 1969 and it grew into one of Hollywood's top independent production houses at the dawn of the 1980s. The company also made "Eight is Enough," ''Knots Landing" and "Love Connection."
Lorimar also made the movies "Being There" and "An Officer and a Gentleman," but its lack of success in feature films eventually led to its downfall. Current CBS Corp. boss Leslie Moonves was Lorimar's top executive during the early 1990s.
Adelson and Walters were married from 1986 to 1992.

With deepest sympathy, I am wishing the family members and cherished friends of Merv Adelson the needed peace and comfort that only God can provide. Personally I thought "An Officer and a Gentleman" was a winner! Sleep peacefully, Mr. Adelson, you lived well!

My condolences to the family. Please find comfort to know that Jesus also went through the pain and sorrow of losing a loved one (John 11:33-35). With out question this is a difficult time for family and friends. The loss of a love one can be unbearable. but with special memories, courage and faith, in time, you shall heal. Our loving and merciful heavenly Father will really help: He says "I have heard your prayers, I have seen your tears" . I will heal you. 2 Kings 20:5.
